Just ordered an X55 Rhino yesterday. Expected time to shipping was 18 days, but got a notification this morning that it was dispatched! Also, ordered Oculus Rift DK2 two days ago and got notification that too has just shipped! I may not be seeing my wife and kids for some time.....

Does anyone know if they fixed the Xbox-One controller so it now works without doing the work-around every time ?

I was using an xbox controller up until last week with no issues, i didnt even know i was supposed to be using a workaround. What was it working around ?

I been playing for about 2 months with a 360 controller, until Monday. Swapped out for a Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotas. It has increased my throttle control skills a little but it's just not enjoyable to play with. It's giving me terrible RSI due to the yaw control. Loosened the spring off and now can't hit the top of a Type 9 at 200m. Going to try and stick with it and play around with the dead zones a bit but for comfort I'll probably go back to the 360 and just have to run away from combat :D

I've made a profiler exactly because of this issue. I think I've mostly got it right, fine adjustments are possible thanks to the filters used (smoothing, nonlinearity and a tiny deadzone). Another thing I've have realized is that the sticks are constrained to a circle, so for example with pitch and roll on one stick you can't have both fully deflected at the same time. Therefore a multiplication is also necessary.

Some ideas I've come up with and implemented:

1. While fighting I'd really love to have 5 axes: roll/pitch/yaw and lateral/vertical thrust, but the controller has only four. So I ended up assigning the same control to both yaw and lateral thrust, because it does not impede aiming, but still makes lateral evasion possible.

2. In normal flight I usually don't need my hardpoints, so I ended up configuring the triggers, which are really analogue axes to control yaw. This way the controls are almost the same as when fighting, and have all controls necessary even for landing. I use one shift button to convert vertical to ahead thrust useful when landing, this is also always available.

3. The last trick is using double button clicks for some operations: X is throttle up, double X is set 100%. A is throttle down, double A sets it to 0%. Thanks to this all controls I know of are mapped to the controller, I never have to use the keyboard.

I am an old school flight sim pilot that logged several hundred hours playing IL2 back in the day. I sold my Saitek years ago sadly and haven't played a flight sim since. I just bought the game and plan on practicing solo until the game goes live so I can get my flying groove back. Here's my question...

I just ordered a Thrustmaster T.Flight Hotas X
to get me started with. I know it's not the preferred choice, but I want to be sure before I sink the cash into a quality rig. So what is the best way to set up my joystick when I get it? Are there joystick configurations out there I can download? Or copy? I've looked for joystick configuration guides, but haven't found one yet... With this game being Beta I thought it be better to ask now, then to wait until I have it.

Thanks for your answers in advance

Still got a working X36 hotas from way back west for sims such as Comanche Vs Hokum.

Replaced with a hardly used and boxed X52 for LOMAC and now...

stuck with Saitek and got the X65 and Pro Flight rudder pedals for DCS A10/DCS World.

Just got the beta and have spent more time configuring buttons than playing!

Finally worked out how to progam the Pinkie as a shift button in the SST programming software... see you online soon!

Please I need help..

I bought an X52 pro to replace a normal fully functioning X52 which I was hoping to give away..

So I un installed everything Saitek and Madcatz from computer and set about loading latest drivers for X52 pro...(7_0_34_109_64_Drivers_pfw) Spent all day yesterday trying to get this to install/work but have failed miserably.. now computer locks up if Joystick is attached.

I've scoured the internet for solutions. tried different drivers, USB slots, used a program called 'usbdeview-x64', and finally removed registry entries relating to all X52's....

Has anyone run in to this prob before and found a way to get a Win7 pro installation to recognise a X52 pro.... when a previously installed non-pro worked just fine??

Even if you reply with what driver version works for you on win7 pro 64bit i'd appreciate it - cheers

edit just to add, my old 'non pro' x52 worked fine on USB3 port - some people have said the newer X52 Pro doesn't work on USB3 !!! Really? Strange that a newer product only works on older ports?

Reported for teasing.

You can't come in here and talk about modding gear and not post pics or a "how-to" It's in the rules (or at least should be)

On a side note, anyone else here in the US noticed the prices of joysticks creeping up the last week or so? When I joined beta a couple weeks back that T16000 was around $48 U.S. Now it's up to $68. That's a 50% price jump!!

CH peripherals have gone up about 10-15%. The Saitek stuff has stayed about the same but curiously enough the warthog has dropped about $35.

My guess is you're running an Intel board with native USB3 (Z87 or Z97chipset?) .... I had the exact same issue.

Uninstall the Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller Driver and everything will work with the joystick. You may need to tweak your BIOS settings (like turning of xHCI handoff to disabled) for the USB3 to work as USB2.

The downside is that you will lose USB3 to get the x52 Pro to work. I've heard that Saitek 6.x drivers can be used instaed of uninstalling USB3 drivers but I have yet to find a download for it.

Hello,

Is there any place when someone posted his/her binds/preset for Thrustmaster T.16000M in E:D? I want to replace my old Logitech Extreme 3D Pro and I didn't had any problem with finding some presets for it but I can't find anything for Thrustmaster T.16000M.

Also it would be nice if someone could share his experience/feelings about this joystick. The lack of seperated throttle is one thing that worry me but eventually I can buy Ch Pro throttle... Or maybe I can wait 1 month and buy new x52. Saitek cost something like 130$ and T.16000M I can get for 50$ :).

Buy a USB 2.0 hub connect it to your USB 3.0, or a USB 2.0 card (USB 2.0 hardware is cheap now), this should help, this way you dont have to disable USB3.0 completly like some did....
