Hello Pilots,

I did magnet mod for my x52 pro and now I can move below Y-axis (III and IV quarter). Another thing is button 1(fire) does not work :/. I bouth my stick on ebay and seller told me that only 1 button on throttle does not work(but it was driver problem anyway). Any idea if this will be asy to fix? I can hear the "click" sound but windows does not react when I push this button.

This is how it looks

Saitek X52 Pro looks like the sweet spot then.

Its on the list and that list keeps growing. Thank god the Rift is a bit away from release.

I'd take a squiz at the Saitek Aviator personally - I've had it before and it's got lots of knobs and a dual throttle (of absolutely no use in ED haha). Also the Logitech 3D Pro (I have the 2.4Ghz wireless version) which is pretty solid.

Having said all of that - Hotas is deffo the way to go if you can push the boat out - I have an X52 Pro now and there is no going back.
I have the logitech 3d pro except mine is wired! It's the same one I've been using since I was a kid with FSX and I still love the force feedback. I am tempted to get a Hotas though because the throttle slider is not very accurate for ED. Btw, does anyone know if ED supports force feedback?

Joystick recommendation?

Do you all recommend a Joystick for this game?
Perhaps Thrustmaster, perhaps which model?

I really enjoy playing these types of games with a Joystick and throttle so hopefully this is recommended.

I'm using an old Microsoft sidewinder 2 pro, works beautifully with the keyboard attached to the base :)
Soon though i'll be getting the saitec X52.

A Joystick is HIGHLY recomended if you can get used to it, yes the mouse keyboard combo works.
Its got nothing on stick!

Depends on your budget really..

For Thrustmaster (joystick only):
I recommend the T.16000M, because it has very precise stick and has the same hall-effect magnetic sensors but costs much less than the more expensive Warthog version.
T.16000M: http://www.amazon.com/Hercules-2960706-Thrustmaster-T-16000M-Flight/dp/B001S0RTU0
Warthog: http://www.amazon.com/Thrustmaster-HOTAS-Warthog-Flight-Stick-PC/dp/B00CBVHJ00

For Thrustmaster (HOTAS hands-on-throttle-and-stick):
T-Flight HOTAS X : http://www.amazon.com/Thrustmaster-T-Flight-Hotas-Flight-Playstation-3/dp/B001CXYMFS
Warthog HOTAS: http://www.amazon.com/Thrustmaster-Hotas-Warthog-Joystick-2960720/dp/B00371R8P4

Personally, I have the T.16000M for my right-hand, and am looking forward to buy a CH Products Pro Throttle USB for my left-hand joystick:
CH Products Pro Throttle USB : http://www.amazon.com/CH-Products-Pro-Throttle-USB/dp/B00006B84Z

If I had the cash I would go for the following mix of controllers:
Right Hand: Thrustmaster Warthog (joystick only)
Left Hand: CH Products Pro Throttle USB
Feet: CH Products Pro Pedals USB

Cheers! :)

I use T.16000 and I find it to be very precise.

In my left hand I rigged up my old belkin N52 as throttle/target and menu control.

Just an idea other than buying the hotas.

I also recommend the Saitek x52 Pro.

I use it in conjunction with the keyboard for a few functions that I can't fit on the stick (lights and precise percentage power to engines 25%, 50% etc.) Once you get used to the set-up it's pretty nifty especially when you get used to the thruster control on the throttles Hat stick. Fanbloodytastic!!

Happy piloting commander whatever your choice.

After reading all the forums talking about HOTASs, I bought the X52 pro a few weeks ago and am extremely happy with it if that helps :)

I've got a Thrustmaster T16000m. Great stick, although some of the buttons are in weird places. After a while I also bought a CH-throttle to connect to this. Works great :)
Still thinking about pedals (I'm getting into real flightsims a bit), but still have to think about it. At the moment the twist on the joystick works fine.

It depends on your budget and if you're being at all "sensible". I recently lucked out on a PPI claim so I treated myself to a Warthog and I've been utterly blown away by the quality. For example, it has 16bit sampling on the stick axes. I pulled it out of the box, plugged it in and ran the config tool to see how much calibration it needed. X and Y were sitting exactly at 32768. I waggled the stick, let it self centre - straight back to 32768 with no deadzone. Perfect. And it feels fantastic. There's something incredibly tactile about this joystick and the knowledge that it is an exact replica of a real aircraft makes it feel just that little bit more special. I've downloaded DCS (free from Steam) and the A-10C DLC (£20 IIRC in a sale!) and now I have a lifetime of gaming ahead of me, should I choose to take it that far.

I'm not meaning this to be a bragging post but if you can possibly squeeze the cash for a Warthog and throttle, you won't regret it (even if you'll never actually justify it!).

Been using the Cyborg F.L.Y. 5 (cost me £20 second hand on eBay) which has been good enough. It has enough key binds for combat and primary functions. But trading up to the X52 pro. It is the weapon of choice for commanders across the galaxy. Some peeps seem to prefer the mouse, but takes some getting use to, though when you do it is supposed to be very accurate for tracking hostile ships.

I used to own a T16000M and to be honest I didn't like it so sold it on but it is decent value for the money. Think I'l get a X52 pro and maybe some CH pedals.

How many usb devices can you use in ED? I sim race and whilst old sims only allow 3, more modern sims allow more.
