Well, I am thinking to buy either a Xbox One controller ( cheap) or a X52 (not pro but still very expensive). Is it really worth to get a joystick? Does it improve your combat capabilities that much?

Can anyone tell me if the Saitek X55 or the Thrustmaster warthog work on USB3 ports. I know there is an issue with the X52 Pro...

Hello guys im currently have something to ask.

Anyone here uses Logitech Attack 3?? In my local store, they are currently having a sale and it's now $8 for Logitech Attack 3. My setup will be right hand on joystick, and left hand on the keyboard. Anyone here uses Logitech Attack 3 can tell me if it's worth the $8? or I should dish more and get the "Logitech Extreme 3D pro instead" ? that one only have -6% off which isn't that much of a cut.

Also, so far I've been a mouse+keyboard guy, what's the science behind joystick that make it better than mouse in flight control

I have used mouse + keyboard and logitech extreme 3d pro + keyboard and now CH Fighterstick + keyboard. All have worked out great.

For $8, that's a solid deal imho. Even if it ends up a backup or 2nd (throttle) stick in the future...it's worth it. Enjoy! :)

For newcomers ...

I made Complete bind setups for variable situations with printable reference sheets.

My setups are for ...
1. Thrustmaster T.Flight HOTAS X
2. Microsoft XBOX 360 Controller
3. Keyboard and Mouse (5 buttons)

Joystick under £50

hello, i know this topics posted all the time (i did use the search bar) but it seems the ones that are reccomended are over £70 or so and im on a budget so my question is, is there any good budget joysticks under £50 that are good enough to play for a beginner because ive tried and tried to use mouse and keyboard and it just doesnt feel right and its hard to fly right.

i found this but i want to know if this is the best i can get for under £50 or if there is something cheaper that is better ?
Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotas X Joystick £39 (cant link as im new but its on amazon)

thank you :)

I'm using the Thrustmaster and I find it's excellent. Plenty of buttons, nice tight response. I flew with keyboard only (no mouse) 30 years ago on the original Elite and I'm certainly glad I don't have to do it that way now!

I've got the same one and its a very good joystick for the money. Just about enough buttons to control everything and feels quite good too. I don't know if you can get it cheaper but its probably the best stick in that price range.

You can get a Logitech Extreme 3d pro for around £20 on ebay ... they're a great starter stick with throttle and yaw if you don't want to shell out for a full hotas - It's what I'm using.

I tried the T-Flight but didn't like the throttle module.
I now use a Logitech extreme 3D pro and my tartarus acts as my throttle and thrusters.
Think Amazon have the 3D for around £35...the Tartarus is expensive but I already owned one.
It would still be doable using keyboard for thrust etc. The main advantage of a stick is in combat
.
I really like the 3D and it feels better quality than the T-Flight.

Logitechs have served me well in the past. The least expensive Saitek (Mad Catz) is most disagreeable to me along with the low end Thrustmaster HOTAS, but that is more an issue with the Thrustmaster not fitting my large hands well and having fairly short throw. It probably works well for someone with good fine reflexes... mine are shot.

Thrustmaster T16000M. I have 4 of them. One for each hand, and 2 on the floor I use with my feet! (hey, laugh all you want, but the foot-operated joysticks are all the rage with the Thargoids!)

hmm

hmm so many to choose from haha, the extreme pro and the hotus seem to be around the £30 mark if you add up the shipping, tough choice hah

I have a logitech 3d pro and an x52 they are totally incomparable, the 3d pro is not a precision device and you will struggle hammering targets at a distance of more than 1km, an x52 and you can really feel the added precision in aim compared to the 3d pro, it's worth the extra few quid really is, as someone said stalk ebay for a used x52 you may see one for below £70 :) or the x45 is another option is supposed to be a great stick...

I've not tried the x52, but yeah I will agree that the Logitech is a little wooly, and the yaw doesn't zero properly so I have to have a fair deadzone set or I'll go round in circles a lot! ... it's a cheap and cheerful stick, but fairly reliable (unlike what I've heard of the cyborg sticks)
.
I'm definitely planning on upgrading at some point soon, but first I need to find £300 or so!
