Current setup:

Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback 2
CH PRO Throttle
CH PRO Pedals
Saitek PRO Flight Switch Panel
CH Combat Stick
Voice Attack; custom created by myself, 753 commands.
FaceTrackNoIR using IR tracking and a handmade IR tracker clipped to my headset. EDTracker ordered.

I use a Leo bodnar usb adapter to operate my G27 pedals seperately in games.

All games bar ED recognize my pedal inputs and can be mapped accordingly. No matter which peripherals i have plugged in, even if the pedals are the only thing, ED will not accept or display any input.

Trying to bind an axis produces no input at all. Does anyone have any idea why this is??

Thanks

Myself I have The Warthog HOTAs and am so very pleased with it. It has none of the stiffness i have heard about and performs great! Now if I can just get Cliffs of Dover to recognize my rudder pedals. Which is rather odd, at first Elite recognized them, then they stopped working. I wonder why?

Thanks for your help - the forum seems to be a great place to hang out. I will spend some time with the various bindings although it isn't always clear what the option does (or if I should use one in place of another) - Also, is it possible to bind mouse movement to the tab views ? - i.e. my mouse already works in the commodity screen, but when I press "1" for navigation etc it is purely joystick and WSAD etc. and I cannot get mouse navigation to work...

Many Thanks all.

Jonathan

Im currently using a Thrustmaster T Flight Stick X, and the default joystick commands work for quite a few things but how do I get thrust on there and why when I use the keyboard do I have to hold down the thrust key do make it go forward, as soon as you take your finger off it, it slows down again?? Help???

Just bought the game and downloading it now. I'll play it with my old Saitek Cyborg 3D if I can find it after not having used it for about a decade and if I can get it to work with Win8.1. If not, I'll probably get a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro.

I just bought a T-16000 to replace my fairly generic Microsoft stick pause while the laughter dies down.

Question about setting up the joystick: is there more to it than (a) selecting "mouse and keyboard", (b) making changes, (c) saving it in the "other" slot, and then (d) making more changes when you realize the first set of changes wasn't enough?

Isn't the X52 Saitek series almost 10 years old at this point? It seems to be out of stock here, why is this still an option? I haven't had a joystick since the 80s.

Logitech Extreme 3d Pro

I am looking to buy a joy stick with separate throttle, does anybody know if any of the ships have dual engine "is there need for dual throttles" like the Pro Flight X-55 Rhino H.O.T.A.S has.

Thanks

753 commands!? I salute you!! How have you got that many?

I'm using a Cyborg Force 3D. It's ancient, (2002), isn't as precise and has a little rotational drift but does the job. Only having one hand and being a leftie there isn't much choice out there in the stick department unless I want the whole foot pedal thing which is pricey. Voice attack and edTracker are my other controllers

Joystick (Saitek ST290 Pro) in the right hand, keyboard in the left.

I keep thinking I'll get a HOTAS (money not a problem) but I don't think it would be that big of help to me for my play style and setup.
Triple screen would come first.

I use a Thrustmaster Warthog which has the two throttles tied together as only one throttle is used on Elite Dangerous. Some have used the second throttle axis for other things like rudder etc.

Only problem I had was when I had too many input devices plugged in and some weren't recognised. But I think a lot depends on the software. Initially in the early development stages of ED only one USB controller was recognised. Not got Cliffs of Dover but all flight sims I have recognise the Warthog and the rudder pedals. What pedals have you got and do the appear in the windows control panel.

I have been using a mouse and keyboard for so long ( 20 years or so) that a joystick just doesn't work for me. Its all about what you get competent with.
