A Saitek X55 and Saitek Pro pedals mounted on a GT Omega Pro rig. I made some adapters using MDF so I could mount the throttle onto the gear shift and the joystick onto the wheel bracket. I mounted the wheel bracket upside down to lower the joystick and used wingnuts all round so I can convert it back to a racing rig in about 10 minutes. It works pretty well even though the joystick is not in the "proper" position but hey I prefer the joystick between my legs so to speak!

X2 - first and only joystick used and it's perfect for elite. I'm still not that decent at using it but I would definitely recommend it to others. The only bad points about it really is the mouse stick on it is pretty much useless.

Joystick Slipping?

Want an easy way to stop your joystick slipping whilst you combat those nasty pirate wings?

I used some non-slip matting that I use to stop things slipping about on boat, the stuff I use is http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00DKY4F7W but you can use any similar material.

I trimmed down a small piece to make this:

using a longer strip gives this:

However the strip means that you can't slide the keyboard, you have to lift it to move it, hence me using just the smaller cutout:

This is the same stuff I use under my setup; it's super useful, cheap, and waaay easier than bolting stuff to your desk.

Thanks for this +rep my x55 doesn't slide around too much but if I go real crazy it moves a bit and I'm all ocd with how it sits on my desk so I'll have to get some of this.

My stick never moves as the base plate is huge and it weighs 2 tons but the throttle does some times move forward (despite it weighing more!!
i could probably use a small bit just under the throttle.
id need a bigger desk if I wanted to place my keyboard between my throttle and stick like yours as that's rather chunky too... Also I'd have to tidy the desk, the half that is out of shot

I use Velcro to hold the joysticks down.... and I have a seatbelt which attaches my PC chair to the desk, so that when I push the foot pedals I don't go rolling backwards.

I'm not surprised that she does! The seat belt arrangement must look funny

Not sure why I haven't just done that, I have a ton of that 3m velcro tape stuff thar I used to hold my edtracker on my headphones. Note to self, velcro x55 after work.

.... oh yes, and I forgot to mention that I also have 8 extra buttons Velcroed to the sides of my joysticks (4 per stick).

Just to make it clear, the main reason I use the non-slip matting is that nothing needs to be stuck to either the joystick or the desk, when not needed you just lift it off. No need to muck up your desk or your joystick (or hotas throttle).

Tacky puddy as its known here in the Ne US. It works wonders I don't use a stick(naga epic from razer, much more precision than a stick) but I do use the Orbweaver for my off hand. I tacky putty it into a good spot.

I was thinking of buying the Thrustmaster t flight x, but i have just seen this one, similar but looks to have more buttons and controls, can anyone give a review and explain the controls (trims ect).
I want one around this price.
What are the trimmed controls for analogue X / Y used for.

Those reviews look awful to me.

Nosscar, I have been using the T flight X since release now and for the same price range there is little to no argue.
