Another Thrustmaster T.Flight Hotas X user here. I paid £32 for mine. If I were to consider spending more I'd ignore Saitek and buy a CH products Fighterstick and Throttle setup. I just can't justify that, though... :(

I was thinking about it, but where did you get it for £32? the cheapest I've seen is 39.99 on amazon.

I'd just get it from Amazon tbh as their no quibble returns is well worth the extra peace of mind if its a lemon.

You could alternatively hit up fleabay. There's loads on there.

Could you give more e-tailers? Amazon.co.uk gives a price of £150-160, scan.co.uk has a price of £119.99 as you said, however it is available for pre-order only due on 26 of June, i.e. in almost 2 months.

I believe dabs.com have the X52 pro in stock at 110 and the X52 at 90.

I must have been lucky then, only paid £69 for my X52. Though for the life of me I can't remember where :(

I'm no flight sim expert by any means (never had a joystick in my life), however the X52 is so easy to use and now it feels natural to fly ED with it.

Yeh I got mine abt 4 wk ago for elite after first trying the fly 5. wasnt impressed with the fly 5 but after using this for elite alpha and bf4 jets theres noway id part with it :) well worth the extra imo

I'm thinking about getting the Saitek Cyborg F.L.Y. 5 for this game when gamma rolls out. Looks pretty ok for a reasonable price.
But I don't have any experiences with joysticks, has anyone tried this one out with the alpha so far?

I had this and it broke, replaced it with the T flight hotas and must say I think it's a far better stick for the same money.

There was a firm on eBay doing a 20% off deal with free P&P. They seem to have finished now, though.

This was the one I bought. Full price now, though. :(

If you want a budget HOTAS, I'm hearing good things about the Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotas which can be separated..

I use the Thrustmaster T-Flight HOTAS, and it works very well for a great price.

Looks like the price on Amazon dropped a bit. It's showing at US$45 right now.

If you have a PS3, it can be used with that system as well. I'll use it playing IL9-Sturmnovik on my PS3, and then Rise of Flight and ED on my PC.

...

I have the Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS, and the Saitek Pedals. The game seemed to recognize the rudder pedals when I stopped on them in the setup, but when I try to setup the stick for Pitch and Roll Axis, I get nothing. The throttle does seem to be recognized as well.

I just noticed the same issue, same exact setup.
Too bad we have to rely on the *awful* TARGET software, I'd really, really, prefer to not use it. Personal pref, I know .. I just hate the bloated feel and accessibility of that kit.

I hope to see more direct support for several controllers in the future.
Does anyone know if this is the case?

Cheers.

Wonder if anyone can help me, ok just took delivery of a Thrustmaster hotas x, but I can't fly for toffee with the thing.

Firstly I can't seem to get it to configure properly, so the thrust controller, seems to want me to pull back to thrust forward and thrust forward to reverse thrust? I can switch off flight assist but it immediately comes back on again?

And also what is it with the sensitivity? I have to really move the stick to get it to do anything, but then when it does it constantly overshoots, its not very sensitive or too sensitive. I appreciate that like driving for the first time its hard to find the sweet spot without practice, but this seems cumbersome.

I know some of you went form an xbox controller to this and haven't looked back, but I'm struggling even more with this than the xbox controller. Can people with one tell me how they configure the buttons with the controls and how to change the sensitivity so I can actually hit things when flying, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks.

Looks like you have bound the joystick's axes as digital buttons. Unbind them (e.g clkick Pitch up & hit esc, once for each button-bind) and bind the axes to axes.

And the thrust, you might want to invert axis for it. And maybe put it in Forward only -mode, with a button assigned for reverse.

Have you got it setup correctly in the game control settings?
This normally works ok. You can also I think inverse the controls.
For FAoff sounds like its a toggle setting in the same menu. Toggle allows you to use the button as click on click off or stay on whilst button pressed
