Here's a nice one.
My knowledge of the existence of ED is quite fresh, but when I found out about it I immediately went flightstick-shopping. And after a good look at what was available I ordered an X52 Pro. (was planning on entering PB as soon as I get the stick)
That was more than a week ago.
I just received an email form the shop where I ordered (and paid up front, they already have my money) the stick, that the importer/distributor won't have any until the 7th of June.
That's at least another 5 weeks ...

I expected to have to wait a couple days, but not a month and a half.

The same wait goes for all of Saitek/MAdCatz HOTAS systems.
And I've checked around. None of the usual stores in the Netherlands have any in stock.
So now I have the dilemma: Do I wait? Do I cancel and ask for my money back? Or do I pay more than double the amount to change my order to a thrustmaster Warthog? I mean, I like playing games, but €300 for a stick is just too much for me.

I guess I'll ask them what they can do for me. Maybe they'll give me a deal on the thrustmaster. I doubt it, but it won't hurt to ask.

Maybe you can ask your money back and try to get it sooner from germany ? Some e-shops there are usually well stocked and maybe you can get lucky.

I've asked them if they have any alternatives. I'll wait for their reply.

In the meanwhile I've bookmarked a few German sites.
But Germany seems to be low on stock too. Most retailers are out and are giving the 23rd of july as the delivery date.
I did find one, but their asking price is more than an X-55 Rhino would cost.

I did find a few normal X52's and a few X-55 Rhinos for their normal prices and have got them bookmarked.

Sure it would.
Only, officially it isn't available outside the US and Canada yet. And I haven't found it stores here yet. I was kind of surprised to see some in stores in Germany.

I think you are wrong, they first were made available in Europe and after some time only in USA and Canada.

Oh I didn't know that, I thought it was available worldwide.
They are hard to find in stores around here too, usually when a store get some stock they sell out in under a day.
I was lucky enough to place an order the day the store re stocked.
They've had 10+ units in the morning all sold out by the afternoon.
I bet Elite and SC are helping moving these peripherals off the shelves. :)

You may be correct, meaning that I might have been wrong. Perhaps ... possibly ... maybe a little bit.

After taking a closer/better look at the Saitek website, it seems to be on pre-order in the US and Canada. And it should be available in the UK, Germany and France (only. so not here in the Netherlands).
Of that Saitek sponsored retailer, both the French and British are now out of stock. The German store has 3 units left at the same price they've prices the out of stock X-52 pro at. Which is €53 more than I paid.

Hi fellow commanders,

I am trying to setup my shiny new X52 but noticed the X52 Pro profile in the PB only has the bare minimum configured. Before I customise it myself does anyone have a link to a good ED profile that makes use of most if it not all of the X52 buttons?

Thanks all

Thanks to Kerrash, I searched for X52 bindings (instead of X52 profiles) and found some useful threads, which helped me realise the default X52 Pro profile works really well once you disable the clutch setting in the X52 control panel.

Need Joystick advices!

Hello pilots, and welcome.

As the title suggest, I'm thinking to buy a Joystick ( but nothing extremely expensive ). So far I'm looking at products such as the "Saitek Cyborg F.L.Y 5" and the "Thrustmaster T Flight HOTAS", but I'm open minded about alternative solutions.
So, please guys, share with me all of your knowledge and personal experience about this matter! :)

EDIT: I play on the sofa. xD

There's an entire thread dedicated to joysticks somewhere - has a poll/run down of most use. I used it to guide my own purchase - picked the Saitek X52 Pro as that's what most people in the poll used. Couldn't be happier - it's literally plug and play, and with a twist rudder and a ton of buttons there's no need to use the keyboard. Good luck.

That really depends on you budget. Also take into account that joystick/hotas might not suit sofa-playing, they need to be fixed to something solid.

I would reccomend if you start out to look for an x52 hotas, where i come from second hand they go for around 50 euro. The stick and button layout on the throttle is just perfect for Elite :)
