Anyone using the Logitech G940? Having trouble hitting my target with it. So I thought I thought I would ask If so are you using the default setup or have you changed the settings?
Thanks for your time.

I am, though most of the time I'm too lazy to drag it all out and just use an Xbox 360 controller :). When I do use the G940 I use the default settings, and it works fine for me. But then I've played literally thousands of hours with similar setups in pretty much every flight sim ever made, and have a pilots license, so I couldn't imagine controlling flight in any other way...

Am jealous! will be going for an x52 pro myself but might not be till new year after just ordering new rig today, i highly recommend looking at x52 pro youtube vids on step by step out of the box guides(they go into tons of details about the stick, watched a few myself lastnight)

the pedels can you use them in ED? have fun with your new toys! :)

Looked at the x52 pro in early June but it seemed the whole world had suddenly run out of stock. Only available ones were S/H on Ebay and S/H bashed up j/s's were not my bag.

But I like Saitek so looked at the X55 Rhino and decided it was the one for me. I like the twist stick and in Star Citizen have remapped it to roll and x axis to yaw, although a 2 stage trigger action would have been nice. Hopefully it will be easy to incorporate into ED as I shall be coming in on the beta at the end of July.

360 Controller

Can anyone let me know if this works with the current BETA? My PC is running through the big screen in my living room and as much as I would love to use my G940 its really not practical. Sorry if this has already been answered!

The link below will help you setup controller presets. The default presets for official microsoft xbox 360-pad are control pad and control pad with yaw. I prefer the yaw. Take care and Elite!

MFD Cougar Pack

Has anyone tried this? I couldn't find it mentioned.

I'd much rather have keys I can't fit on the joystick mapped to something like this than a standard keyboard. I like the fact you can insert a cheat sheet. I have no idea what the standard for compatibility is with this sort of thing. I saw something similarish that was only MS Flight Sim compatible.

MFDs can be combined with warthog etc and will work fine :)

The 360 controller works fine in the beta, at least the wired variety. Some people seem to have trouble getting the game to recognize the wireless one, though.

Dammit! Do you think I'm made of money?

Actually they look quite good value. Thanks, very much appreciated.

Voice Attack cost $8.00 USD and can be used to control all your power settings and misc. commands that you need but don't want bound to your HOTAS.

http://voiceattack.com/Default.aspx

Buy it, install it, and run the MS voice training program 3 times and you'll never have a problem with it. you can even get voice confirmation that the command you asked for was completed. (although I will say Microsoft Annie sounds , but that's solvable with voice add on packs if you have win8)

Cheers. I've been thinking about that. The point I wasn't sure about was what happens when we get voice comms? If I'm playing with a friend and we want to chat. I don't want to be hearing his voice attack commands and spamming him with mine. So would you need to mics, one with a mute button?

If you use push to talk on Teamspeak, you can get voiceattack to stop listening when you push the push to talk button. Not sure if VA will act on other audio inputs eg you friends comments on TS.

And if your not too frightened to make a couple of registry changes, you can download the v11 MS voice to text program and many extra voices free from MS and get them to run happily on Win 7 64 bit.
There is full details on the Star Citizen forums if you do a Google search for it, and easy to follow instructions how to install the V11 voice to text and the alternate voices, as well as an easy to follow instruction on how to navigate to and change the two registry entries.

My noobie standard beta test will be with a ms sidewinder

I did have a thrustmaster a couple of years ago and felt too big and too much for bf3 and bf4

Now wish I hadn't sold in

But I'm sure a sidewinder is still good for the job

Other - Saitek X-45 HOTAS.

Given Windows 7 BSODs if I try and activate a profile though I'm tempted to eventually buy an X-55 if only to get drivers meant for the OS (these are technically Windows Vista drivers I think) and up to date software.

Fortunately I don't need the software to set the HOTAS up for E: D as its in-game customisation is good.

Now, will I ever get brave enough to take 1.5-2 turns off the centering spring ? Currently I have 4 cable ties compressing the middle part in order to lessen the tension, but they keep moving around....

I hope for full and proper force feedback support (haptic feedback). Made anew for space sim games and revived. And not forgetting xbox one trigger FFB and rumble as well.

There are haptic forces and effects that can be represented absolutely everywhere on a space craft via haptic feedback. Landing gear operation, landing and take off forces and vibration, atmospheric flight - both entry and exit, atmospheric exit thrust forces, impacts in asteroid fields and with other space objects including other ships or docking manoeuvres, ballistic weapons fire vibration, combat damage vibrations from ballistic weapons fire and missile hits to shield impacts. Then three could be the vibration forces from using afterburners or sudden reverse thrust. And even some opposite force when nearing high g-forces, or high ships hull stress limits - a slow force building up, and then maybe a stick shaker reminder.

I would expect to see a couple of settings or more in the advanced controller options eventually to adjust the amount of force feedback. This would seem a logical step to take. And other options, but I'd leave that to the dev's to decide upon. Certainly some advanced force feedback options would be great to have so one can fine tune the experience.

Plus anyone using a force feedback stick in Elite will need the auto centring addressed, most have the optical sensor to detect when the grip is held. So some section in the games settings/advanced joystick controls will need to have force feedback centring options. And many more I hope to further adjust force feedback options, such as strengths and maybe limiting where FFB is used. Then also having the option to manually edit the games *.ffe files (haptic feedback effect files).

Force feedback stick and HOTAS ID's, as posted on the IDs thread. I'm sure a lot of the commanders here will have some of these or have had some of these HOTAS and joysticks.
