Hi :)

Is there a current list of specific joysticks that are supported in the latest beta?
I've had a brief look in the search menu but I can't see anything that directly answers my question.
I'm looking to find out if the Thrustmaster T16000M (V.1) is listed (if there is such a list available yet!).
Any information welcome. :)

Jack :)

Logitech 3D pro. Works cool since I downloaded the profile binding from another thread on this forum, and then tweaked it to get thruster control plus look on the high hat.

Throttle is a little awkward to use, but I'm getting the hang of it.

Joystick Config: Pressing button shows corresponding mapping

I have bought the premium beta yesterday and started to configure my Logitech G940 HOTAS. Being new to ED, I had a hard time remembering what buttons I had already configured. In a lot of games, when you are in the controller config menu, pressing a button will show the corresponding binding.

This would be really helpful in ED especially, since noobs will return to the config menu a lot, since it takes a while to figure out what all the functions do and how they should be mapped.

Cheers

Great idea, makes binding keys a lot easier.

This was working this way in the first ALPHA!! ..... I don't know why it was not continued later....

That was one of the first things I criticised after going from single player combat to the premium beta :( The UI generally took a big step back at some point.

I raised a ticket after this 'feature' was removed/broken. So hopefully we will see a return in Beta 1. There are so many binds that it is definitely needed!

Joystick bindings

Does anyone know if ED is going to employ the 3 different mode settings of the like's of the X52pro?

That way a simple thumb dial turn can give you a whole new range of features for buttons, making the whole game easier.

Either that or we need to get together and create an ED profile for each of the modes

I suspect it'll be the latter.

In order to support the three modes, you need to have them fully configured in Saitek's software and have that profile selected before launching the game.

If you want to use features that go beyond USB HID guidelines on any device and need to be set up in third-party software, I'd say it's up to you (or the community) to set it up independently.

I have the Warthog, but it is securely mounted. The flight stick does come with a large and heavy metal base plate (removable) that I guess could be stuck to a desk with Velcro, but 4 screws / bolts would be much better. The stick is very good and precise, the slightest touch registers a small movement in game, so you probably don't want the base plate to have any movement in it when you move the stick (i.e as you might get if stuck with velcro only).

The Throttle would possibly be ok with velcro, it does have rubber feet so may even work ok without velcro if you are not too ham fisted !

Do you all have pedals with the warthog? Or don't you miss the yaw?

No I don't have yaw pedals. I map the yaw control to the analogue slider just next to the Warthog throttle, plus there is a toggle to convert roll input into yaw, which I map to a pinky button on the flight stick.

I find that with these two options it works well, if you are rolling and want to yaw at the same time, or need to make smooth inputs, you can use the slider on the throttle (which you can feel out without having to look at the throttle), or if you need to make a quick yaw change like when docking or landing, the pinky switch on the flightstick is perfect as you can keep your other hand on the throttle controlling the speed.

Overall I find the Warthog perfect for ED, I never have to touch the keyboard (except for galaxy map). There are enough buttons and switches to do everything, and if you use Voice Attack it is even easier.

X52 Pro or X-65F?

Gentlemen, ladies...

I'm considering the purchase of a new HOTAS for ED. I'm currently using an ancient Thrustmaster Top Gun AfterBurner (predecessor of the Thrustmaster T.Flight Hotas X), but it's really showing its age and kinda unreliable.

After a lot of googling and reading I'm torn between Saitek X52 Pro and Saitek X-65F. Warthog doesn't have yaw on stick so that's out.

So, asking folks who've used both: is X-65F worth the much higher price or should I go for the X52 Pro?

Thanks for taking the time to reply.
