I ended up buying a cheapo Thrustmaster HOTAS X that is supposed to be delivered today. If that doesn't work to my satisfaction I may spring for the X-52 Pro.
taotoo..the Ch Fighter stick is VERY appealing also for its buttons. CH makes really quality stuff, no question. But I really, really would miss the twist on the 16000m. In fact without the twist I would likely be lost at the moment. It really helps greatly. I really wish CH would make a stick with a twist...
Having had issues with hand discomfort in the past with controllers and sticks, the first thing I'll try if I experience that with my new Hotas will be driving gloves (even homemade ones). Fingerless gloves with strategic padding - works for racing why not flight sticks?
Hi all
I just got my X52 pro the other day and finally got it setup for elite. I have noticed one thing that seems to be funny..
The throttle LEDs flicker, and the two rotary switches jiggle a little, I use the joystick in ED and is DCS Huey and have zoom on the rotary switch (this is how I first notice the rotary jiggle.
From doing a search users seem to suggest its cable, but I've tried the usb cable in all the ports on the PC which makes no difference.
is it faulty ? - it's brand new !
Any ideas?
Thanks
On my Asus z87 board I found that turning off the xHCI settings in the BIOS did the trick, downgrading all USB3 ports to USB2 and "solving" the X52 problem. But this is only a valid method if you definitely don't need USB3.I don't use usb3, how can I disable this? would like to see if that helps, I also don't use team speak so don't think it's that.
A CH Pro throttle will work with any other joystick, so instant HOTAS.Finally dug out the old Logitech Wingman Force 3D I suspected I had lying around - was very sloppy and after disassembling it and applying some creative thought in the right places, managed to get it feeling pretty good.
... and after defending keyboard and mouse quite strongly, now I want to get a HOTAS setupOf course, what I really want to do is build my own...
Biggest annoyance with the cheap sticks is where they place the throttle - any other suggestions for when I wear this one out? Or something without a throttle?

They are *excellent* for E: D - the microstick is perfect for thrusters, and plenty of switches and buttons. Also will not fall apart after 18 months.
