The lack of basic UI information in Community Goals is actively wasting player time (Redonesses CG)

I just spent a session dropping into Conflict Zones for the current "Defeat Criminal Pilots in Redonesses" community goal, earning combat bonds, and turning them in—only to realize zero progression was registered.
Why? Because I picked the wrong side.
The community goal description vaguely asks players to "assist in clearing the criminal element," but completely fails to explicitly name the actual factions involved. It gives no mechanical direction on who to fight for. I had to go to an external website just to find out I was supposed to explicitly sign up for the Redonesses Defense Party and fight the Clan of Redonesses.
This is the third community goal in a row that feels like a poorly checked, copy-pasted template. We shouldn't need a second monitor and a third-party website open just to decode basic, critical gameplay parameters that belong in the game's actual UI. If you are going to ask pilots to risk their rebuys in high-threat combat zones, the bare minimum requirement should be clear instructions on who to shoot.
Please start putting explicit mechanical parameters (like exact faction names) in the CG descriptions.

Please don't take this the wrong way. Frontier has done an absolutely fantastic job on this game and continues to do so. But whoever is responsible for the past few CGs, needs to step their game up.

Don't be so harsh on them, it was an extremely difficult task to give instructions. Here, look how complicated is the wall of text needed:

"Go to combat zones and kill Redonesses Defense Party ships."

EDIT
"Go to combat zones and kill Redonesses Defense Party ships."
Clan of Redonesses.

You see, it is complicated indeed.

It's also confusing to hype the criminal narrative but require combat bonds. Bounty vouchers don't count, and wanted ships don't drop combat bonds.

I would like to know if the person who puts these together actually plays the game. The mining CG was an awesome Borkfest. It was setup in a way that a total noob knew hauling was way more lucrative than mining. Then they go and change the prices a week into it and again Borked all the markets. The system chat was hilarious. FDEV gave the toddlers a lollipop then after a few licks yanked it back from em. LOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hilarious.

Its combat bonds not bountys, you have to go to a war zone and shoot ships or Enemys. Actually its easy if you know what you doin. Im at 80 mil in bonds.
The only thjing that sucks is the wasted time to restart the war zone.
I dont know what FDEV is thinking. In the past, ship combat you did enter a war zone and it was running endless. Now its over at some point and you have to fly out and reenter and kill some of the special ships. The other war zones you could enter choose site and play untill you won. Then log out come back in and you could reenter action. now you have to take a taxy, they flys you there. then win and have to fly back. Register fly back to the same spot with taxy.
Waste of time.
Thease waste time things are the worst in this game so many unnessesary time wastes. Right after all the bugs.
BTW did you notice the pilot in the taxy does not speak anymore or he is very hard to hear.

Ah well maybe Frontier should rename the game in Elite Bugfest, its actually fits more.

From the CG text: "Pilots can support this initiative by signing up at any station with a mission board, then taking part in conflict zones combatting criminal forces in the system."

The factions at war - one faction is a dictatorship, the other is an anarchy faction, which is traditionally the criminal element. Granted, Frontier could have made it more clear, but it's not difficult to know who to fight with a few seconds of checking the details of the system's factions.

I had to jump FC from 3000LY when this CG started.
So, on the way I looked at THIS Forum and the OFFICIAL Galnet and so by the time I got here I had a very good idea that it was a fight against the Clan, not the Defence Party.
I used no other social media/youtube/reddit as I don't by choice.

So, there was enough in-game detail to know. I regard this forum as in-game as well as pilots chat, etc.
If it was still unclear, shooting at any side and try submitting to CG to see if it counted would also have worked - 50/50 chance! (only 200LS away from CZ's)

I having real problems trying to contribute to this community goal. I'm in the Redonesses system, and I'm signed up to the community goal at Ellern station. Ive done one space High conflict zone twice (210 ls from the station) with Clan of Redonesses Vs Redonesses Defence Party, and I've fought for each of them and turned in the combat bonds at Ellern and it's still showing zero contributions. Relogged, and still zero contributions What am I doing wrong?

Handing the bonds in at the wrong place. You're supposed to turn them in at the Sword of Iustitia megaship.

Yeah, I guess I have been playing long enough to just know what needs to be done for these kinds of things, but I can totally understand that newer players or folks unfamiliar with the way these things work getting confused or wrong or ending up wasting their time and energy. Been there, done that, and FWIW I agree that there are LOTS of things in this game that are unnecessarily vague, confusing, and prone to causing justifiable ire from people. The aggravating thing is that it would take so little effort to make things clearly understandable.

Your post shows all your accumulated knowledge of the game that you take for granted. New(ish) players lack that - I guess quite a few wouldn't even expect it's possible for multiple wars happening simultaneously in the same system.

Frontier wants new players to sustain the game so the very least they can do is to make these community goals extremely clear. They can still have a wall of text to explain the story. All they really need is to very clearly state the mission, as it takes less than 2 minutes to write and hurts literally no one.

Just concisely explain the parameters. Something like:

Goal: Collect <Bounties or Combat Bonds> by eliminating <faction name> located <specify where to find targets>
Target: <Faction name> ships in <Where? Any Combat Zones? A specific special CZ? A specific system? Explain it>
All <bonds or bounties> should be handed into the <station/megaship> located in <system, planet>

Can literally have a template saved to fill in the blanks. I don't abide that poor communication skills are part of intended gameplay. Especially when it takes less than 5 minutes for someone to include clear and concise directions in a glorified, in game blog post.

Like, imagine playing Monster Hunter and you have to read through 8 paragraphs of fluff to try and piece together what your target is. No one would defend that design choice.

I checked last night for this CG result and realized that I got no reward at all, I guess I also chose the wrong faction, true that I didn't get to participate a lot in this one, just a couple bonds because the reward said that any contribution was enough, but yeah, I guess it's my fault for, unknowingly, supporting the "bad guys".
