Hi,

If I do some bounty hunting by flying to planet A3 in Lidpar and join a low intensity conflict fighting for the Lidpar Order is that ok?
OR can we only do the things suggested in the original post.

You can do whatever you want, I know that I haven't been around that much, but during the week I wont be able to get as much stick time in as I would like. I will always come here to let you know when I will be on to help.

As for signing up, Adeptus Kaze will update the student roster when he signs on, all you have to do is say that you want in, put your time zone and you're in. Simple as that, then someone will contact you or send you invites, the group however have here is really great at helping each other out and being patient. All I ask is that you do the same. Any of the staff could always be reached via pm or xbox message if you have a question. I speak for myself when I say that you could always email me, it's never a bother.

@Saintme58: No problem man. Had a lot of fun today. Got to pilot with some great CMDRs. Was able to wing up with several players today, and even ran into some folks from the Taco clan. It was fun interacting with other players while docked at the station.

Comms chat with the xbox smart glass is great for finding new people to play with while docked at various stations. These players will be listed under your Friends tab on the Comms panel under Local. Their ship name will be displayed and selecting them will open up a direct text chat for messaging or viewing their gamercard to compare playtime.

From a prudent stand point, I'd work on adding people who've most recently expressed interest in joining to get involved with other active players. Most of the instructors welcome being added and I'm sure most of the students are always looking for others to play with. I know I am. Hunting in a wing increases profits quickly.

I had to look up MST... 6 hours behind GMT apparently so you're either up early (REALLY early...) or if you're anything like me haven't actually gone to bed yet heh...

I'm GMT at the moment as BST has just finished so normally wouldn't be around at this time as I'm normally at work but I've got the day off today so am thinking about getting a few hours in.

I've been trading for the week or so I've been playing now and currently have a Cobra Mk III so I'm gonna buy the trainer I think and get out on some bounty hunting missions with everybody as my combat skills definitely need some brushing up...

Hey Kaze, or anyone who can tell me, I've earned 100 merits from Kaurukat Violent Protests. Now if I'm understanding this correctly, I have to wait till the reset (Thursday) for my Rating to reach Rank 2. Correct?

Also, if I keep farming merits, to reach Rank 3 will I be able to just jump straight to Rank 3 at the reset? 75 kills doesn't seem too bad to muster before thursday (in fact, its only 65 now).

edit: I should point out that I've already returned to LaLande 46867 to turn in my vouchers. mostly to see how much each kill is worth Merit-wise (10 merits a kill). Heading back to Kaurukat now for some more.

It looks like You have it figured out. Your rank will increase on Thursday at 0700 GMT. This moment is known as "The Powerplay Tick", and is when all things in Powerplay update weekly. Congrats on earning enough for Rank 2. If You can - grind to rank 4: There are a lot of Perks, and the end of week 5 Million Credit voucher is nothing to scoff at either.

Just earned 1.4mill in just over an hour in the Lidpar CZ fighting for the order. Tips from Kaze's lazy guide to CZ are invaluable and once you get a solid wing formed up the kills roll off quick so +1 for that. Docked in Carlisle for the night but if anyone wants to wing up when I'm on drop me an invite. I fancy popping my power play cherry next ;-)

I've been playing for 2 weeks and have a fair few credits but would like to know more about combat but he's new to the game. I've advised him to do BB missions until he hits 150k then we'll head over to Lidpar together.

I can safely say Tinny and I aren't beginners anymore we're currently in Lidpar taking out pirates in the Haz RES and working things out quite well now, there are still some some things to work on obviously but, we're a good team and always work together even if he does crash into me often since he never looks where he is going lol xP we'll hopefully see you around Lidpar soon

Fantastic Saintme58, I'll add You now. As our Students begin to do more Trade and Mining Missions, security will become an even more important job. Don't forget that You will earn 5% of the value of whatever your wing sells in port. Security gets paid in ED!

Just state your intention, and give your GT and Time Zone for the roster.

There is a large difference in Magnitude between Pirates and Griefers. An honorable Pirate can add flair, danger, and depth to the Universe.
That being said: Piracy is one of the hardest Professions in ED, because You want to seize cargo from your targets without killing them; and you will attract bounty hunters like flies to a fresh cow pie.
I actually was a Pirate for a brief time myself, though I only plied my trade on NPCs; if I see enough interest, I will run an 'Intro to Piracy' class.

Oh Wow!? Don't wait for me! Just let folks know that You are waiting for my slow Self to get You onto the Roster.
The main use of the Roster thus far is to allow CMDRs to easily find each other, and to prevent Cross-Faction Friendly Fire between Academy Members. (Which as almost happened a few time now! )
If You are not on the Roster, and get pulled over (interdicted) by someone who is, just send them a quick message explaining that Kaze is a Yutz, and You are waiting to be added. *lol*

I am happy to see that you are all doing so well, and Hope to see everyone around Lidpar soon-ish. I have some amazing Real Life news to pass on once I get the go ahead to do so, and will have to ask everyone's indulgence in my alaskan-cod-like flakiness for a bit...

Anyways, I'll see you in the black eventually. In fact I'm gonna start my Mason's trek to Kaushpoos system.

update: wow. with the Mason I made the trip to Kaushpoos in only 8 or 9 jumps. easiest 3 mil i've ever made. in fact, I think that doubles my total income for the game, lol.

Sounds like a plan. The CGs can make You great money, i don't usually push them b/c they require a bit of Travel; but You seem to have things under control. Don't feel any pressure about the Staff position. It will be there when/if You are ready.

Another money making update: Apparently there is a CG in Tabaldak that involves CZ's. 1 Million for participation. I'm told that if you earn about a million or so in combat bonds for the Emperors Dawn you'll be in the bracket that rewards 7.5 million. Sounds like a fun way to practice combat and try and make da millions.

Yet another moneymaking update:To those who participated in the Kaushpoos CG, I hear its gone up to Tier 7, which means the reward for delivering just 1 ton of any metal (to Neville Station) has gone above 3 million. Easy credits folks. And remember to accept the CG mission from the Bulletin Board before selling your goods to the station.
