The Limit Theory Thread

Actually, Tinman, I wouldn't be surprised if the update is chock-full of goodness. He tries not to let us down if he can help it.:p

I've asked him about the snapshots, Philip. But he hasn't told us where he's been holidaying so the chances are we won't see the piccies. An awful lot will be happening in the next few days if I'm not mistaken.:D

Heaven knows what the re-energized coding warrior will be able to produce in the next few months.;):)

I'm teasing of course. Actually, the best course of action might be to let the graphics monkey out of his cage and go to town for a couple of days. That would still get him some shiny stuff to show of. :)

I know that, Eric.

Yes, I agree. The graphics monkey would enjoy being unfettered for a few days, assuming he isn't sulking after being left in his cage for two weeks. ;) We could indeed be treated to some additional shiny stuff with his cooperation. Josh was getting serious about content before he went away so I expect to see some of that in the update. :D

How do you get by with this pathetic array of smilies? I still complain we haven't got enough of the little fellas on the the LT forums.

Good to see we managed to gain a new player for ED on the LT forums, Philip.;)

That line, "Anyway thanks to all of you because if it wasn't for this thread i probably wouldn't look twice at it " proves how worthwhile it is maintaining the thread.:)

I like the ED thread on the LT boards. It's a nice calm sensible place and people are genuinely interested in asking questions. It's also inhabited by some jolly nice chaps like tinman, Cody, Victor and your good self. It looks like the new recruit is enjoying himself greatly. It's also nice to see that there are quite a few ED hands that are very interested in LT.

Yes, they are a good bunch of chaps, Philip. :) I'm not so sure about that Victor chap though. I'm keeping a wary eye on him.;) And Cody turns out to be a smuggler. I was shocked!

*chuckle* At least you're not a pirate, Cody.

Seriously though, it's great to have those who are knowledgeable in this community posting helpful comments on the LT forums. As you can see there are still those who know little or nothing about ED and that's a shame because they are missing out on a superb game.:)

Heya Mr. Coutts,
would you mind adding the kickstarter homepage of Limit Theory to your OP ? People who do not know about his project might appreciate the possibility to learn what you are talking about :D

Thanks, Hanni :)

Not a problem, link is now there and also the link to the LT website :)

Seems the monthly dev update for August progress has been abandoned.

I'd say its a trigger for either a fantastic September update, or Josh's spiral into darkness.

I say it's simply because he took a two weeks vacation last month (first free time since he started work on the game after the KS) and couldn't cram in enough stuff in the remaining two weeks...

I DID say this previously in regards to that time off...

I guess this months update is going to be rather light on content... :p

:D:p

Sorry!

I wish I had kickstarter people as my boss, every time there is a delay like this all you need to do is apologize and comments like "Go and get some sleep, dammit! :)
No worries, Josh, we can wait." start rolling. Same thing happens on StarCitizen.

Not talking bad about the guy he seems to be working really hard I'm just impressed about the response you get for delaying a product (or an update in this case). I don't think I'll ever hear a CEO from a successful company "guys take your time, get some sleep we can delay the launch no worries"

Comments about him taking his time and sleeping I believe are genuine concerns by backers regarding his health. As you follow this project, you know how much effort this guy puts in, and I believe these health concerns are legitimate.

If I was to suddenly hear that he has been taken to hospital for a condition related to these efforts, it would not surprise me at all.

They are genuine concerns, -o-.:)

I, for one, have been fearing the worst for a long time now. It doesn't need a genius to work out that a punishing regime like Josh Parnell has been following can only be sustained for so long. Frankly, I'm amazed he managed to continue for as long as he has.

Finally, he has listened to reason and given us this to ease our concerns:

"Thank you charnode and all else; I am touched by the constant kindness and encouragement of the community. Said it before, will say it again: you guys are the only thing keeping me sane.

I will take heed. Finally, at long last, I will take heed.

Promise
"

I'm ecstatic that he has responded in this manner.

Like I said I'm not addressing the guy for been lazy, just pointing out my impression on that kind of comment, sorry if I got of thread.

It's not a problem, ykza5.:)

In all honesty, I couldn't see myself feeling as protective towards any other KS creator. There always has been something special in the LT backer/membership mix. Of course, you have to bear in mind that there are many ED backers who form part of that mix. As I've said before, I was signed up to ED before I knew anything about LT. There are many who have a foot in both camps. The limited but growing number of members on the LT forums helps considerably and only a small percentage of them post on a regular basis. So it's more like a family.

It's hard to see how any member could feel differently about Josh and his work on LT. He ran a superb KS, he always keeps us in the loop with daily dev log entries and we (usually) get to watch a terrific update video every month. In addition he frequently posts in the various forums.

It's fairly easy to see why he inspires such loyalty and concern for his welfare. Don't you think?

Well yes I do agree with that. I've been following LT channel and the updates are amazing and progress has been really consistent unlike another company that has (cough) 53million (cough) 200+ staff (cough)

Yes, I'm a Black Card holder on the one you are having coughing fits about and I share some of those concerns about it's progress. But I'm ever the optimist and at least they've managed to get Arena Commander V0.9 out for me to enjoy some new in-hangar experiences and a touch of flying about a bit in the M50 and 350R.

Now who's going off topic? :D
