The Limit Theory Thread

Sadly currently you can't back or donate anymore:

Continued / Additional Funding

This question gets asked a lot. Short answer; No. There will be no more pledges or pledge upgrades. No exceptions.

Really honest stance... Hope he has the numbers right to achieve the development.

Yep. He's more or less the polar opposite of CIG ;)

I give Josh a lot of credit for not milking the money cow on his project. Sure he could have continued to accept pledges as he was coding but he chose not to and he has stuck to his guns. Hopefully people respect that and will wait for the full release.

I have absolute faith this game will be finished, will it be everything Josh wants it to be? Maybe not it is an amazingly ambitious title and it might not be exactly what Josh intends but then there is always LT2........

Its cool this particular game is delayed. I am good with it.

I do think he will release it, but still could be quite some time yet.

I still have faith.

Also just reading Joshes dev blogs is worth the money I spent in the kickstarter. Not saying he should not realease the game, just saying be gentle on the guy, he is an inspiration and is the standard king for the phrase "trying his very best".

I was very surprised to pick up a copy of my local student newspaper "The Brig" to find a mention of Limit Theory in an article about early access. That Josh, he gets everywhere!

A few words to let interested parties know that Josh is not dead. The delayed but rather special update video presentation for September will be available at the usual places soon.

And the latest dev log entry by Mr Parnell is well worth a read.:)

Do you actually have any interest in ED at all? All your posts seem to be on Limit Theory and Star Citizen! :p

I have no interest in ED whatsoever, jabokai. I am just a PR man working for Josh Parnell. *chuckle*

I hope every die-hard commander here is thinking of backing The Elite Archive Book: A Thirty Year History of Elite which is funding on Kickstarter at this very moment.:)

I also hope Flight Commander Ozoli and Commander Dan appreciate this mention.

Just watched Update #20 and Damn that guy is amazing. I can not wait to get my hands on that game as well once its done.

I shall be in turmoil once Elite and LT are both out on which one to load up and play, Hmmm both running and 4 arms and I am good :)

Great update. Things are starting to come together in a big way. I really like the look of the UI, quite simple and uncluttered but with the ability to drill down. The graphics seem to have kicked up a notch as well and there were a couple of shots in the video where I was picking my chin up off the floor. Glad to see that the Colonies are starting to make sense as I think they are a huge part of the game.

Overall a really great update, the only issue being I would love to see more!

Final point, I really miss the ED Dev diaries, I think you can explain an awful lot in a short time using them.

Heard of Limit Theory?

Anyone else looking at Limit Theory? www.ltheory.com

Fairly different flight sim, in the Freelancer format. However, it does implement procedural generation (to a much greater degree, even to the point where ship designs are procedural) and from the dev videos it looks absolutely gorgeous and pretty fun to play.

Also a game born out of kickstarter, just one guy (and a couple hired graphics and sound guys). I fully intend to play both games (Elite: Dangerous and Limit Theory). Similar visions too, this fella just wants to make the Freelancer game he always wanted it to be, and I couldn't be happier with yet another original incarnation of space simulation.

The UI being used on LT looks great too, and there might be some inspiration for Elite, or not, not being pushy.

How does Limit Theory stand out from the 2 biggest upcoming space games (ED and SC)?

I've been following Limit Theory for a while. It's interesting though I dislike how surreal space looks in LT. Elite Dangerous already fills my appetite for space sims.
