The Fatherhood Presents;

The Lost Souls Expedition 3304!

Date: 20th October 3304

Departure time:

  • UK & Europe: 22:00 UTC
  • USA: TBA

Location: Schwann Port, Hajangai.

Platforms: PC, PS4, Xbox

Taking you on a journey to see some of the wonders our galaxy has to offer, as well as visiting some important historical locations that form part of the Children of Raxxla lore.

This expedition has been designed from the get go to provide a challenge to both new explorers and seasoned veterans.

Specialist support will be provided throughout in the form of experience exploration CMDRs; able to answer any questions/queries you may have. From how to set up for such a trip to what routes are best to plot and everything in between.

We will also have our very own support team; LS Rescue- equipped with fuel/repair limpets and ready to respond, should the worst happen while you're out in the black.

Please rest assured this is not a ‘hard-core’ expedition, we aim to suit the needs of those who have limited time to play (like us!). Our initial goal will be to cover approximately 3000ly per week; Without stopping to scan systems this is approximately 1.5hrs playtime.

Depending on when the Q4 exploration update goes live and the effect this has on basic scan times, the ly per week may be revised.

For those that do have plenty of time, there will be additional waypoints and POI's to visit along the way.

Please click HERE to see announcement doc with the full list of WAYPOINTS including the optional stops.

We hope you can join us on the expedition and look forward to welcoming you!

Good luck on your adventures. Its been a while since an expedition revisited the Rift :)

If you haven't already planned to do so, maybe check out the following systems on your way? I don't think they made it into the lore surrounding Salomé, but they're places she visited during her trip to the Rift...

Alessia's Pearls
GalMap Ref: Outopps KO-X c28-0
A system just 1,200 LYs outside frontier borders that contains tidally locked twin Earths, and a water world, making it a likely tourism or colonization candidate. The system was discovered by the mysterious CMDR Salomé sometime in late 3301.

EAFOTS RX-T D3-3
This was discovered by a CoR wing just after the Zurara was found, its not far from the Zurara. Salomé had been there sometime previous to its discovery.

Thank you CMDR - will pass that on and ask them to take a look that those :)

Im interested in this jaunt, currently building a new exploration ship and was thinking of heading out to the Rift anyhow.

The open mode has no effect.
There is no option for cross platform playing.
There are some major differences on how many ships can be in an instance.
PC has 32 if I recall correctly and PS/Xbox only 16.

Kind regards
Marc

Im in, just getting an FSD booster to make jumps more comfortable.

Exactly what I am in the process of doing. I'm at the Guardian site on HD-63154 B3-A getting the FSD blueprint.

... and done! Almost 66ly range!

I've recently spend 4 weeks around there so you might bump into a system or 2 with my name on.

While I was there these might be of interest too:
Rings Shore, GalMap Ref: Smaidiae IZ-M d8-7
Moon Orbiting extremely close to the parent gas giants rings. Orbit is so close that the rings edge reaches beyond the orbital cruise distance of the moon. Aside from the mountains and canyons that are abundant on the moon there are even supposed to be silicate vapour geysers, but I wasn't able to locate any of them.

Explorer's End, GalMap Ref: Phae Phlai AA-A h0
Situated between the Bovomit Badlands and the far edge of the Formidine Rift, this system can pose an extreme hazard to any starships hyperspacing to it. Its primary star is a harmless AE/BE Herbig Protostar, but the danger lies in a Blue Giant companion in extreme proximity and two orbiting black holes. Starships approaching from the wrong vector can easily become wedged in the inferno between the primary and secondary stars, or exit hyperspace very close to one of the black holes. Explorers beware.

Glacier Point, GalMap Ref: Slege WJ-R c20-0
Located on the Perseus Arm at the southeastern edge of Via Maris rests Glacier Point, a 16km cliff face at the intersection of four glacial fissures, each with a 10km high cliff face. The fissuers collide at Glacier Point with a mountain ridge that runs parallel to the secondary canyon, leaving a steep cliff edge jolting upward from the moon’s surface.

The mountain ridges are formed by fault lines scattered across the glacier’s surface, causing eruptions of slicate vapour geysers. The exposed glacier walls in the fissures, have slowly collected dust and dirt toward the bottom, giving the canyon floor a deep blue and green color. Make no mistake, stemming from the fault lines and collected material, the fissure’s floor is a mostly rugged and sharp surface hardly suitable for surfacer reconnaissince. What results, however, is one of the most dramactic views in the galaxy. Moreover, there appears to be low levels of glactic dust or fog at the bottom of the canyon floors, which reflect light off of the glacier’s edges - further leading the etheral atmosphere of Glacier Point.

Surface Coordinates: 3.9530 // 18.843

Check them on the galactic map because 'nearby' is a relative term. But they are def well worth visiting!

Good luck commanders!

I've applied too. While I've been to Point Decision before, I wouldn't mind trying one more time :)

see you in the black!

Hi. I'm thinking of taking my DBX (55 LY) along. It would be my first expedition - I'm about 50 hours into the game with about 25m CR net assets to my name - and given that I can only play about 2-3 hours per week, it looks like it might suit me.

I just have one question on loadout though: should I bring a cargo rack or AFMU (both Class 3)? I can only fit one or the other, once all other modules (shield, fuel scoop, SRV, scanners) are fitted.

I thought a cargo rack might be useful for carrying Thargoid or Guardian bits and bobs if we happen to be passing their sites - not sure if this is part of the itinerary?

The thing is though, I'm a fairly clumsy flier (hence the shield!) who's a big fan of neutron jumping so I expect I'll need repairs at some point. Would it be presumptuous of me to rely on fellow expeditioners for the occasional patch-up?

AFMU, you'll need it. And if you can a repair limpet controller and small cargo rack for the limpets. Ditch the shield if needed.

I would take AFMU as cargo space it useless for exploration unless you bring some limpets. Take look at this basic build https://coriolis.io/outfit/diamondb...PwMAbA6BIicAAAA=.EweloBhBmSQUwIYHMA28QgIwV0A= DBX is too limited in slots so limpets make it too constrained. I am sure that some other will bring them so you could ask them to repair.

Yesterday I gained guardian FSD booster so this can be nice opportunity to fit Krait for some exploration.
