The low hanging fruit

Recently one of the devs brought up the notion of low hanging fruit, i.e. things which are relatively easy to implement and also carry little risk of introducing new bugs or game crashes. And sometimes it really is the small things that make all the difference. What are your low-hanging fruit? What UI modifications, number tweaks, graphical details, keybindings etc. would you like to see?

Here are mine:
  • Eagle top speed changed to 300 (only with A-rated thrusters).
  • Fragment cannon and rail gun max ammo changed to 100.
  • New commodities: soy (would include stuff like tofu; produced by agriculture systems), spaceship components (industry or high tech), glass (refinery).
  • Key binding for system map.
  • More instances of the "rich" starport interior, especially at worlds that are high tech and/or wealthy.
  • More variation of pirate ships at resource extraction sites, not just the same 3 spawn tables (Sidewinder, Cobra, Anaconda).

More specific exports per system - e.g. agriculture not necessarily ALL the foodstuffs every single time, extraction system with mainly gold, another mainly coltan..etc.

Long-distance billboard missions

More pirates in anarchy systems

more text variety in NPC comms (how many times have you had your remains "consigned to the void" or been told "die, wretch!")

Outside camera.
Different skins on NPC ships.
More info on progress for factions - my great bug bear is still being classed as unfriendly with the Federation, even after bounty hunting / trading / doing missions for them.

I would like to see the graphical representation replaced with numbers in the outfitting screen.

E.g. when comparing the damage of a fixed weapon and a gimballed one. It looks like the fixed weapon does more damage, although the same amount of "boxes are marked".

Is the low hanging fruit notion designed to channel attention away from background simulation?

Here is mine then - bring the wobbly-headed toy back!

Changes to the outfitting screen, being able to filter.
Landing Pad lights that stay on.
Option to import your own music files.
left, right and rear cameras, just for gawping
Laura Ashley blinds for my cockpit.......I am going to stop now....

Keep the jump setting to the last one you had it on, in my case Fastest vs Economical. Seems like such an easy preference for something so annoying.

Select destination from system view.

Hotkey for system map.

Ingame and tested UI colour schemes options.

Reputation progress meter display at a slightly lower level than it currently is. (Unfriendly 99% -> Neutral 0%->99% -> Friendly 0%)

Select nearest target (any ship).

How about...

Some descriptive text to why you get a fine in your left hand panel would be useful. Can't learn from my mistakes if it's not obvious why I just got a slap on the wrist.
