The media spokesman for the Alliance is not anonymous for nothing...

Do you know the fact that the Alliance participate to the creation of Aegis ?

And don't forget the fact that the Inra was ended before the birth of the Alliance....

Sorry, I don’t wear tinfoil on my head, so I disagree with you, OP.

I’ll stick to the storyline that FDev is actually laying out for us, instead of the wild conspiracy theories that show up here.

Nice to see what you see the Alliance Values are, murdering people for having the wrong opinions, that totally is representative of the reasons for the formation war to begin with, that members of the Alliance to maintain their independent governments cultures and views without external pressure or interference.

Yeah OP, fact check before you post. Aegis was formed by all 3 superpowers..

Don't forget though, shortly after the formation of Aegis, the Alliance launched their own independent thargoid research campaign. The other superpowers made a stink about it and Alliance had to come back with a statement saying "no no its okay, we are totally invested in aegis"

My feelings have always been Aegis is 70% feds cranking out new weapons and blasting as many thargoids as possible, 29% imps with non-militarized approaches to dealing with thargoids, and 1% spies for the alliance.

I lol'ed a lot at this bit:

“Apart from undertaking scientific research, developing defensive systems, producing anti-Thargoid weaponry, creating the Eagle Eye surveillance network, building two military megaships and actively engaging Thargoid forces in combat…what has Aegis ever done for us?”

Bloody romans:D

Actually, I think they are more like "Roman slaves" than "American slaves".

Don't fall for the propaganda. Yes, Imperial Slaves in the core Imperial systems live a pretty decent life. On the frontier ... not so much. Some of the official fiction goes a little deeper into the details of Imperial Slavery as an institution and it isn't all pretty.

No Alliance CMDR with any sense of history supports Aegis. It is clear that even leadership knows that, as no one ever steps up and puts their name to it.

Not all Alliance CMDRs, some have their lore together and are not inventing fiction just to support their own made up view of the Alliance.

"Alliance Prime Minister Edmund Mahon added the following:

“I am aware of concerns that Aegis could continue in the same vein. Fortunately, Aegis is bound by the strictest possible codes of conduct. We will not make the same mistakes.”"

“Aegis has received sanctions from the leaders of all three superpowers to focus not only on research, but also on defence. This reflects a belief that Aegis, which includes some of the galaxy’s foremost experts on non-human life, is best positioned to coordinate such efforts.”

The Alliance supports Aegis, Mahon supports Aegis.

Unless AEGIS breaks said sanctions... But, yeah for now AEGIS hasn't been found suspect of INRA style activities so Prime Minister Mahon backs them. However, that may change...

While Aisling is most definitely posturing for the press, she does raise a good point. AEGIS has all this tech, all these ships and installations at their disposal; why do we still not yet have a way to effectively eliminate the threat? As of yet, we mostly just pick up the pieces after the Thargoids move on. Why not evacuate ahead of time? Why not start equipping the stations as well as the SDF with AX weapons? We fight the Goid's daily, yet we still see them advance through our space.

This scares people, this scares Aisling. AEGIS has access (via CMDR records) to INRA's old studies and findings. AEGIS has huge amounts of funding and scientific backer who are pushing for major breakthroughs. I wouldn't be surprised if AEGIS gets desperate for results and falls down the same path as INRA.

Will it be worth it this time around?

Well the Thargoids are over 1 million years old, they could potentially live inside witch space or even another universe and have vastly superior technology than us. I think Aegis is doing their damn best to help humanity but what can you do when these bugs can literally pop out of anyway in the galaxy.

I honestly believe the Thargoids are just toying with us. They obviously have ships capable of destroying entire planets so it's a matter of time before one pops in at Earth and turns it to dust turning all morale in humanity to nothing.

Players would complain about "hand-of-god" gameplay, "story on rails" and not being able to influence the story, they would ask why they should do anything Thargoid related as Aegis is doing everything.

In short, the reason players have to do the main work is because this is a game.

…. They obviously have ships capable of destroying entire planets …

Do they have that capability? Not sure if I missed the obvious or if it's not obvious.

Slaves are slaves even if they're willing slaves to pay off debt.

I don't fully agree with that, as anyone today IRL working to pay his rent and such would be considered slaves too... Which is debatable, I concur ;)

But the fact that they can stop being slave by just willing it (money issues put apart) makes it look like a job. A pretty crappy one I guess, but they can disagree and say "No" to their employer, at least if the sources I found back in the day were correct...

Anyway not really the topic here, but I made my first billion by hauling Imperial slaves nearly three years ago, so I always have a soft spot each time they're mentionned.

Or FDev could just add in things like jumping into an alien signal and finding AI human ships fighting the interceptor (and doing horrible at it), security ships at stations armed with AX weaponry, etc. I.E. start seeing capital ships and stations actually armed with AX weaponry as well.

Just wondering if Commodore Riri McAllister is now on the KOS list of "Alliance" CMDRs.

Maybe Mahon and the Alliance Defense Force should be considered traitors and brave "Alliance" CMDRs should start hunting down Alliance Defense Force vessels. [hehe]
