The media spokesman for the Alliance is not anonymous for nothing...

"Alliance Prime Minister Edmund Mahon added the following:

“I am aware of concerns that Aegis could continue in the same vein. Fortunately, Aegis is bound by the strictest possible codes of conduct. We will not make the same mistakes.”"

The Alliance supports Aegis, Mahon supports Aegis.

1) They're making the same mistakes.
2) FTFY

For the Feds and the Empire - FD use named characters with identifieable personalities and agendas.
For the Alliance - it's whichever intern is making coffee on the floor below Michael Brookes' office.

Oh wait - Breaking news today - A Named Alliance Character!

Commodore Riri McAllister
“I can certainly refute Princess Duval’s suggestion that the other powers have not made equal contributions to Aegis. She makes a good point, however, with regard to military strategy. Greater transparency around Aegis’s long-term plans would lead to a more coordinated effort in resisting Thargoid forces.”

Hopefully now we've got a named character, we'll see a bit more of a cycnical eye on AEGIS from the Alliance.
If McAllister continues to advocate for transparency he won't be on anyone's KOS list.

Don't forget though, shortly after the formation of Aegis, the Alliance launched their own independent thargoid research campaign. The other superpowers made a stink about it and Alliance had to come back with a statement saying "no no its okay, we are totally invested in AEGIS"
Pretty sure there was an Alliance Thargoid CG already plotted and in train when the new plot line came down from Michael Brookes' office. The lore had to be put together by the coffee intern as an afterthought.

And don't forget the fact that the Inra was ended before the birth of the Alliance....
What? INRA murdered Mic Turner. Mic Turner was instrumental in the foundation of the first Alliance systems.
INRA imprisoned Jo Merion and tried to have her framed for his death.
Disbanding INRA happened AFTER the foundation of the Alliance.

3230 Alliance Founded in Alioth.
3232 Indaol joins the Alliance.
3239 Mic Turner leads Alliance fleet to take Olgrea.
3244 Holiacan joins the Alliance.
3252 August. Mic Turner killed in Pleone by INRA.

I'm with Mangal - AEGIS should be about as trusted as INRA.

McAllister, McAllister? Where have I heard that name before?

Surely not:

What we are seeing is an official from the Alliance Defense Force wants more transparency about the military strategy of AEGIS, claiming that would make the military actions against the Thargoids more coordinated and efficient.

An official who points out that all powers are equally contributing to AEGIS.

An official from the Alliance Defense Force is not only showing support for AEGIS, but wants them to be more efficient in what they are doing.
That's actually a step further than what officials from the Empire and Federation said.

If you don't trust AEGIS, then you shouldn't trust the Alliance (or at least its current political and military leadership).
