That is highly exaggerated. 300m might be possible under perfect conditions. 150 was more probable in something like a Cutter.
Can't speak from experience, but people claimed those numbers were possible with mapped runs in a Wing.

For the first time in 5 years we see Frontier put skill and reward in the same sentence, how about a little faith for a change? Supposedly you're here because you still think the game can be made better.
And now they Say they first want to wait for Feedback before doing further Changes.
I am not even sure that there will be notable Changes any time soon.
They might do some minimal increase of Bounties and Mission Rewards to claim they Improved the Situation.
But in Total I have a Feeling this will go the same way as the last 5 Years and effectively they just wanted to Remove the Gold Rush without Admitting it was an Accident.
This new "balancing" has already unbalanced BGS. Any station that buys Gold/Silver etc can now easily be boosted by Max Inf trading at the drop of a hat.
I appreciate that balancing this game is like Kerplunk, but FD only seem to look at 1 color marble at a time.
To me it sounds like you're playing the game to make virtual money, which will mean nothing in 5 or 10 years, if that, when Frontier shuts down the game, rather than to enjoy the game itself. When I enjoy a game, I want to play more of it, not less.
OP seems to completely fail to grasp the concept that if you change everything all at once with no feedback, then even if things improve, you have no idea which thing you changed had an effect.
Let's say you had an old analogue TV. The picture is poor. So you turn it off, adjust the antenna by five degrees, turn the tuning dial a little bit to the left, and swap out the antenna cable for a shorter one. You turn it back on. The picture is slightly better, but not perfect.
So was the problem the cable? The antenna alignment? The tuning? Did you improve one of those things but inadvertantly make another of them worse? If you'd adjusted and checked them one at a time you might have noticed that all that needed changing was the cable, and messing with the tuning or antenna wasn't necessary and in fact screwed up your otherwise decent picture.
I know you have a low opinion of fdev but demanding they make all the changes at once before seeing what happens? There's a term for it. It's called Shotgun Debugging, and it's generally not favoured for a good reason.
But mining is still one of the most profitable activities in the game and its still insanely easy to make megabucks, even for starter players.
I think its even worse than kerplunk. There are just so many interacting parts that i'm not sure its even possible to balance things.
it was... until Monday.
but lets see how things will balance out. FDev is still at it.
gee it's almost like they're fixing one massive well-known unbalanced outlier that throws the whole credit-balance system out of whack, whose position they are aware of, then stopping to check how things work so they can see what is still amissAs an Electrician I am Offended by this example lol.
Because this is not a Single System with an unknown Fault we need to Find.
This is a Bunch of Interlinked Systems with several Faults whose Positions we are aware off.
So an Electricion will actually First Fix these Known Faults. And then after that Check how things work and if anything is still Amiss.
Not Play around with one Fault and then See if the other Faults Improve lol.
Also.
I dont demand them making all Changes at once.
But making only 1 Change which does not actually Change Balancing is a Horrible First Step.
Yes.
And thats the thing.
Balancing has not Changed. Mining is still the go to Method.
Everyone who wants to make Money will still go for Mining.
Has this Changed anything about the Feedback that Bounty Hunting needs to be Buffed ?
Has this Changed anything about the Feedback that Solo Missions Pay Badly despite having almost the same Requirements as Squadron Missions ?
Has this Changed anything about the Feedback that Exploration has a Horrible Profit per Hour Invested Payout ?
Oh, I actually like Elite as a game quite a lot and have a posive outlook that Odyssey will make it even better. Simultaneously I have rather tempered expectations how drastic changes FDev is capable or even willing to make to the game itself, unlike people expecting complex dynamic economies for example. I'm merely worried that people just won't bother doing something that is low skill, boring and pays peanuts. Probably won't do it myself at all if it drops down to the bottom reward rung, good riddance. For the first time in 5 years we see Frontier put skill and reward in the same sentence, how about a little faith for a change? Supposedly you're here because you still think the game can be made better.
Yes.
And thats the thing.

So whats the Point of Waiting for new Feedback ?
I mean let me Ask you Honestly.
Has this Changed anything about the Feedback that Bounty Hunting needs to be Buffed ?

Has this Changed anything about the Feedback that Exploration has a Horrible Profit per Hour Invested Payout ?
Effectively.
The most Profitable Method of making Money has been Nerfed by 60% and is still the most Profitable method of making Money.
Which as I say again. Was clearly needed. And this being the case Demonstrates that Perfectly.
But whats the Point in Waiting with the Buffs for the other Activities ?
this is so sad
Void Opals - 790K - demand 21
Painite - 240K - demand 1900

I'm hearing good things about Musgravite these days.
...given the profits possible on missions following this morning's server restart, I'm not sure that "fixing one massive outlier" is what they're doing. They changed over 60 market prices and behaviours on Monday, mostly upwards.gee it's almost like they're fixing one massive well-known unbalanced outlier that throws the whole credit-balance system out of whack, whose position they are aware of, then stopping to check how things work so they can see what is still amiss
