The new engineers vs. exploiters

If the new engineers doesn't surpass the god rolls that people EXPLOITED for AND WERE NOT BANNED INDEFINITELY/RESET then frontier has killed pvp with the coupling of there new C+P system, because people do not have the means to surpass the exploiters' ship stats.

Just what the hell is going on at frontier?

No mods, do not move this. The topic is about a previous problem and the new one.

Is frontier dooming the pvp community to be under the fist of exploiters?

1) Source that new engineers do not surpass the old one. What I heard is that "almost all new mods will be significantly better than was possible under the old system yet a very small number of edge cases will remain".

What everyone seems to have heard is that "All old mods that are godrolls will remain better" which is patently false.

2) All exploited mods were reset after the Grade 5 for grade 1 cost exploit was removed. I still remember the outcry from said exploiters who spent hours and hours doing it to whole ships only for them to be wiped.

This has been more or less covered on more than just a few other threads so this is very much a duplicate. So no it shouldn't be moved... It should be locked. :) https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/401234-So-let-me-get-this-straight

Unless there's an exploit I'm unaware of, all players who cheated their way into god rolls got all their modules reset to stock.

From the live stream:
"The new system is fundamentally better than the old system, but the new system doesn't have the same permutation of the old system becuase the new system doesn't have the same BREADTH of the old system"

Paraphrased to eliminate some terrible speech.

Some did, not all. Just the verbal ones.
Those who also chose not to be verbal about their resets.
Only frontier really knows how many really got rese

yes, and with the new effects, the saved god rolled modules can't have them unless they are converted.

hahaha yeh i remember the old screenshot of salt from harry potter when he logged in and everything was wiped! Theres no cheated god rolled mods about.

I'd say that the current engineers have the possibility to yielding
subjectively better mod results, as we currently have the process
adding in one or more secondary effects.
Those will be for choice in the new progress,
but they will become an experimental effect.

So from that i take that weapons will be impacted significantly
comparing old and new methods, the rest of the modules
might be rather stronger in the new engineers.

I understand that FD wants to allow the players to choose
whether or not they convert godrolls into the new engineers.
To balance and set a starting point for balance however,
they need to force the conversion.

I like the removed RNG and the slider approach the
new system has, however i'd rather have an experimental effect
and a secondary to choose from the list rather than the current exclusive approach.

i shall store my super duper GOD modules and do an identical set using the new system ( ill have sexy Galnet audio to keep me entertained ) - then ill compare the two sets. I dont think my SUPER DUPER SEXY GOD ROLLED modules will be collecting dust for long.

Plus they also said that if there were issues with the grandfathered modules they would just increase the max on new modules. Nothing to see here.

A valid philosophy in this game is:

1. There is always a bigger fish
2. Everyone will have everything engineered up to maximum. Its just a matter of time. Theres no chance of avoiding it.
3. Posts like yours just show that understanding of the game mechanics is sometimes difficult.

If you cheat and exploit your way round the galaxy eventually you will be found out and when that happens the only person you are fooling is yourself, gaming is great but only if you play the game. As for the upgraded engineering system i for one am really excited about how FD has gone about changing it, no more 100's of rolls for no gain.

Just like all combat loggers have been found out and have reaped their just desserts?
No, exploiters don't always find justice in the elite galaxy, and it is not inevitable that those who exploited for god rolls will be found. in fact, as is, they will be grandfathered.

As for everyone suggesting this is just further pvp smoke and hype, it's not. During the beta your feedback will be ignored, and you will get curb stomp'd by the grandfatherred engineer god rolls that can carry BOTH experimental and secondary effects. (for instance, high regen biweaves, or long range-low heat cascade rails).

What again?

Every update Frontier is reported to kill PvP. Drama. Fear. FUD. All followed by business as usual in a couple of weeks.

You're right it is only reported. It adapts every time.

This time?
Seeing how a portion of the rebuys will be deffered to the assailant, frontier has this time encouraged noob griefing. People will no longer ask "can I kill it?" and will now
ask "can I afford to kill it?".
This will further shift the aim of the griefer lower, and when they come under threat they can rest on their grandfather'd god rolls to mop up any wannabe cops before the OP system authority comes in, or just high wake out without much ado.

I'll look forward to your report from the Beta on how that works out for you. It's going to be an important point to test.

1 and 2 contradict eachother.
There can't always be a bigger fish if people will inevitably be roll'd up to the maximum.

#3 is true, but it's about your own post

Judging how feedback has been treated so far, I dont think it would matter anyways
