Oh, yeah! The ‘personal narrative’. What was that in the end? Did they just mean the codex?

The personal narrative was:

Finding out about Gaurdian blueprint sites (Ram Tah spoke about them in galnet - missions were offered relating to them)
Go get blueprints by figuring out the puzzle
Unlock modules.

Oh ok, thanks!

No problem - it also relates to then using those modules to fight thargoids etc - but also, there were other modules not designed to fight thargoids, which you could enjoy your own personal narrative of gaining the requireed items to unlock them, in a veritable multitude of ways - thus personal - for me, the word narrative is.... debatable, and probably a poor choice of words to use, especially with the community that supported Elites kickstarter.

Seriously now: You call that a "puzzle"? I have a hard time to call something that only can be solved by brute force try & error methods but otherwise lacking any means of logic a puzzle. That's just a time wasting nuisance at best and a gussy up'ed new level of braindead grind.

I mean, I agree with the guardian obelisk ones, where you have to put certain stuff in your SRV hold then scan a certain obelisk across multiple sites with------blah.

But the one with the blueprint fragments, is something you can work out through some pretty simple deduction, for instance, you shoot a thing, it reacts, you shoot it more, it literally says how many more of these you have to shoot in the corner of the screen, once you shoot em all enough, a big wibbly thing pops up and targetting it show you a familiar set of UI which you know means you need to data link scan it.

It's not that much of a puzzle, but it is one.

Also, I "worked it out" without reference to anything outside of the game.

The obelisks though.... blerrrgggg. Only got to look at the pages and pages of the guides made by people to see that one. I think they did do something with symbols on the obelisks at some point though.

Anyway, I think this might be going off topic currently.
