If you look at the joint of the jaw the skins pulled tight and inwards which isn't normal, I think there's a rope holding the jaw open. The eye is also looking backwards out of shot, probably at the man holding the rope.

Seems to me simply fake. Scales details and all- a nice job- but hardly real.
