So today I discovered something annoying.
Met up with @MVBanks and snagged SDPs for another CMDR. Later on, met up with @Zarozinia to pass the SDPs on to them. Private group wasn't instancing, so logged out and tried open. Which worked - we could now see each other - but my backpack had emptied. The 11 SDPs I had were now gone, and hadn't transferred back to my ship locker either.
I am not amused.

I experienced the same - lost 30 suit schematics in the same way. I prepared them to give to SteveWW57 and they dissappeared. Fortunately I had enough, gave another 30.
And still I have 19 SDPs, so we can meet tomorrow again. I read also about your FC upkeep. This Odyssey will bring us to bankruptcy

Farming military bases. I was directed to one that was a large anarchy military base, high security, which was fantastic for stealth combat training. I spent a few days there, probably ran the base two dozen times in all, ended up with 50 suit schematics. (Plus weapon schematics, building schematics, ship schematics, and vehicle schematics)

Impact sites - data port on the crashed beacons. Respawn to get more.. Down To Earth Astronomy did a video on it, I saw it on Youtube or similar a few days ago but don't have the bookmark.
Those are manufacturing instructions. Suit schematics are physical goods found in lockers.
I’ve been going purely off of mission rewards and what I stumble across on scavenge/reactivate missions. Gotta change up my game.
How many do you need? (I have five... thought I had more, but think I gave a good whack of them away yesterday)

Hab buildings, if I remember. They occasionally show up in Military Bases and elsewhere, but seem to remember getting quite a few at the Bedi Inn in Fullerene C60. (Opinion polls too)That’d be a good one to know how to farm

Do you have to quit and restart the game parked outside of one? IIRC going to main menu and back just presents a cleaned-out settlement.
Yep it does. Instead, head back to your ship, take off going straight up, enter supercruise straight away, drop right back out as soon as you enter (you should drop out 12-15km above the settlement), then back down to land.
