Since we can drop odyssey materials on the ground, we can probably help each other out especially when it comes down to materials that are only useful for unlocking engineers.

⚠️Pro-tip: before picking up a batch of items, make sure you have the room for the whole batch. Otherwise, the game will let you pick it but only keep what fits in your backpack 🤦‍♂️

To make things more efficient:
  • Stick to posting demand and offers with the template below, and use private messages to arrange the actual exchange.
  • Edit your demand/offer if it's no longer valid (e.g. gone or agreed upon).
I also got a discord version, if folks prefer that option but so far this thread is where it's at.

Don't know about discord. I hope this thread will grow - this exchanging materials is good chance to create new gameplay, much more interactions between players.
And this is very useful - after unlocking engineers, I still find this unlocking materials around, and now I have a reason to collect them, 'cause they are useful for other
cmdrs, and I can earn something from materials I need to upgrade and engineer suits and weapons.
I hope (in next months) cmdrs who are good at math and analysis will make spreadsheets about value of different materials, based on the rarity, and then cmdrs
would know what they can get, but of course, they can always negotiate.
Maybe one day we will have weekly fair - materials market, of course in open play. And if gankers are around, then we must organize security - in the air, in SRVs around,
and on-foot agents, from cmdrs who are good at PvP, and they are rewarded with materials, too.
However, I can see lot of possibilities here.

Not really. I think awareness of the opportunity is not there yet.

My offer still stands. I got a few financial projections but I'm still short of what I need, and I still have at least the extra mats (perhaps a bit more too).

Still waitin on being let into the discord by a mod :)

Then again, I'm mostly there to see if I can get the stuff I need, I'm not sure I have much to trade....

Okay, that's great idea... but
... I'm still waiting for a way to exchange ship mats.
Cos I'm sure as hell I ain't shooting down basilisk with a pistol.

Why is that so hard Frontier? Auction based market where you can put mats in at your price and wait for a bidder.
Or whatever you come up with, player interaction in this game is worse than abysmal.
