Deadly, But very fluffy...
They look great mate, nice to see the close up views and changes you made, agree with AndyB good to see more.

Wow, thanks for all the feedback guys! I honestly wasn't sure how this would be received but a ll the positive comments have really inspired me to keep going! I hope to have my next model complete in a couple of days but in the mean time if anyone is interested, here is the link to download the Adder.skp file.

(Disclaimer: this file can be used, modified, recreated, whatever you want, as long as if you post the original you credit me with the rights, fair enough?)

I use Sketchup 8, I know there are probably more powerful moddeling programs out there but i find Sketchup intuitive and easy to use. As far as posting goes, is everyone happy with the large scale pics or would you prefer them scaled down a bit to fit easier on the page? Once again, thanks for all the feedback and I'll catch you all soon!

Cheers,

Smithy

size is ok for me but if they are a bit big for others you can always post a smaller version then wrap your image tags with a link to a larger version

Ok, here is a little teaser of my next project, its unfinished but will give you an idea of what I'm doing :D

I believe you've got to have the basic Griff sets first though. See the Oolite Bulletin Boards for that.

No. Strict mode is boring, you can't use OXPs. In the normal mode, you can get an OXP to put back the energy bomb.

Even when not in Strict Mode I don't use many OXP's. Way too unbalanced. I reached Deadly after using Random Hits and Galactic Navy in roughly two weeks. I don't feel that Mr. Braben and Mr. Bell had that in mind when they designed the original Elite. The graphics mods are pretty and all, and I do run a few of them, but I could/can easily fly without them.

I've got the fuel injection oxp for speeding up transit when mass locked, but isn't it a bit of a cheat to use it in combat? Too easy to get away from trouble, recharge then back in again, do others use it?

  1. Tactics
  2. Yes
  3. NPC's also use them in battle
I've also noticed NPC's using injectors when collecting cargo. Happens when they are on a high speed attack run and the cargo happens to be straight in front of them after dispatching their quarry.

Next up, the Krait! Enjoy :D

The way it uses hyperspace fuel makes it fairly balanced IMO.

Great piece of kit and if I read one of the dev pieces correctly it looks like something similar will be in ED.

I really only use the energy bomb and the trading AI OXP so I don't need to write down all the prices.

oh and textures and planets as well. :)
