There are lot of OXPs use the n and shift n keys for different pieces of equipment. Shift N cycles through each piece of equipment that uses that interface. The n key can then be pressed to activate/use the selected piece of equipment. All of them will happily exist with each other. Activate one piece of equipment, cycle to the next you want to use.

Our Favourite Naughty Bugs Are Going To Get Even Naughtier

Commander Cody was giving me some info on the latest dev build he was testing last night. Apparently the Thargoids (and their assault craft the Thargons) will be a much tougher foe by the looks of things in the future. You have been warned!

<slaps own head> of course.........sorry I forgot Shift N cycles... Will try it when I get back home from work tonight. I have not played Oolite yet this week. :)

You have full control on how many commodities you buy and sell. You can buy individual or in lots. I never use + or - to buy cargo lots. I'm sure you had a look at the manual of course I can;'t remember top of my head what key it is. Pretty sure it is just left and right cursor like the manual says.

Sorry I took so long to get back to you on this but I am on several internet forums. Thanks, I will now use + and - in future and have been when playing Oolite just recently and it's been a huge help to me.

Have you tried some of the OXP like the market trading assistant OXP ? It gives you extra columns so it keeps track o to it. what you paid so you don't need to write it down and can even auto trade things for you if you so wish it.

http://wiki.alioth.net/index.php/OXP_List

Thing is the trading assistant does not seem to be there. I know it is on SSC (Space Sim Central). hmmmmm

Yep, I found it and have put it in with one of those OXP's connected with it. I forget which one at the moment, but I believe it stops the Trading-Assistant from buying illegal goods in systems that outlaw it.

The witchspace burners change colours as you say and with the drive.....you got me there I never noticed.

Yep, I don't really have problem with the exhaust changing colour when using the Witch-Space-Fuel-Injectors as I think that looks real cool. It just the fact that they appear to disappear when using the Torus-Thru-Space-Drive. I think it might be because it is much faster that the exhaust appears to go invisable. Something to do with the huge increase in speed, I guess.

I have made two videos of me playing Oolite (They were really meant to be one video, but my Handy-Cam broke it into two.) and you can see what I mean in the second video.

Not really Playing Oolite, but just watching the title screen

No I am playing Oolite, but not for long as the batteries on my Handy-Cam run down.

As far as filling cargo and not wanting to sell, well, welcome to the world of trading. ;)
Sounds like you are not selecting the correct cargo item to sell if I read your post correctly. You can of course completely control all of this as mentioned.

I have been actually. Though, the use of + and - is huge help to me thank you very much.

Commodities: Left and right arrow keys allow your to buy and sell 1 cannister at a time.

Yep, I got that now. Thanks.

Exhaust colour: Handwavium explanation - as you increase speed more quirium fuel is injected into the engines and as such it changes the colour. Perfectly normal. Infact, you can change the standard colour with a custom ship OXP. Mine has a green exhaust at standard speeds changing to yellow and then a deep red (I think) at higher speeds.

I don't really have problem with the exhaust changing colour when using Witch-Space-Fuel-Injectors. I just wanted to know if that was a mistake or not. I also thought that the exhaust appearing to disappear altogether when using the Torus-Thru-Space-Drive seemed a bit off to me.

Don't forget to look at my videos linked above.

Glad it's working for you Mick. All those keys should be in the PDF that comes with Oolite when you unzip it and every OXP should have a readme in there telling you what keys as well.

I love Oolite....play it a LOT !!!!! years and years now.

I LOVE manuals. I read all the manuals thoroughly for any game before I even install.
<looks up from reading a mobo manual> I didn't read the manual for BBC Elite - I jumped into a Cobra III and experimented. Can I land on the planet - no! Can I land on the outside of the station - no! Can I run narcotics - yes!!!

My friend's dad was like that. He would read the manual from start to finish, and then go through it again before putting in a single floppy.

He got F19 Stealth Fighter, and by the time he'd finished the manual - it was too late to take it back to the store and swap it for the platform he owned ;)

Well, I read all the manuals first. I savour the moment. :)

I use to read manual from start to finish most of the time after buying games. It used to be a tradition for me to read most of the background story on the train ride home to Ipswich from Brisbane and Id di this less and less as I got older.

I do remember walking around house reading the original Elite manual out loud and annoying my parents with it. Though, ad been after I got used to playing the game and was hooked.

A manual reader here too :). I've read the Elite manual several times (I have it here still). A lot of ideas in the manual where also starting points for OXP's. Now the Oolite Wiki has taken place of the manual. I like it when commanders and OXP makers write a nice background story about their ship of equipment. :).

BTW here's a nice pic out of the Development Build (Nightly Build 1.79)

Aclass.png

Highlights: new AI-ecosystem (smarter and makes more sense) with more interactive behavior. Better sun graphics (although this pic is enhanced even more with Wildebloods' Distant Suns of Galaxy 1-8.oxp .) And Zugouyos' OXP's

Read all about new progress of new Oolite versions in the progress thread (a big read though):

Wow looks fantastic......look at that HUD, is that an OXP ?

As for Wiki's I much prefer a PDF of the manual so I can print it and read it. I dislike reading manuals online.

There is a mini update for that, fixes a few bugs. Not quite ready for a proper release.
Jaguar Company v2.5r29
Just a few more loose ends to tie up like the texturing of the sentry ships around the base.

As for other OXPs, I have one called Zoom Camera. A bit like the telescope oxp but without all the clutter. Just a simple zoom in an zoom out. Need to brush the cobwebs off of that one and create some documentation for it.
Preview - Zoom Camera v1.0 (WIP)

Hello Tricky. Goodness I forgot to test Zoom Camera out.....sorry about that...... It is scheduled for tonight.
