The number of systems would tend to indicate away from organic. As with other group activities some level of organisation should probably be expected. So only organised PvP and no organic?

There is no organic PvP only folks ganking traders in murder boats, i used to fly my Vette around systems all day, nobody interdicted me.So only organised PvP and no organic?
I pretty much only fly in Mobius and yes its PVE heaven, fly with your mates, explore, have fun knowing everyone i meet isn't some basement warrior who wants to try and kill me.I'm not a member of Mobius, but isn't that for PvE exclusively?
I wonder why?i used to fly my Vette around systems all day, nobody interdicted me.
That is rather common thing with high tier ships...Usually it is rather peacefull with my iCutter too. Funny thing....i used to fly my Vette around systems all day, nobody interdicted me.

Actually Fdev in their wisdom created a mode for everyone, Open for those who want a spot of ganking, PG for those who want to create an Open PVE (Mobius) and Solo for those who just want to chill. There seems to be two (at least) concurrent threads here:-
1. Advocacy for a proper PvE mode, with the extreme position to be a removal of PvP in its entirety
2. Improved PvP (such as PP missions etc), with a similar extreme position of the removal of Solo or PG (with a slightly lesser version of keeping those modes but for them to have less influence on the BGS or PP)
If our assumption is that there should be some sort of risk/reward system in place...
...then there's no in game bonus to PvP as it stands, all activities pose less risk or are more efficient if they're conducted in Solo/PG - even in Open the risk is determined by instancing, timezones and with the size of the galaxy, simply finding other players to add that risk.
Is there a compromise to be found between the two groups?
(Notwithstanding that whatever we suggest is unlikely to ever be implemented)

Its all there, unfortunately there are some who don't like choice.

How would it be stopped?Murderhobos killing sidewinders at Deciat can't be good design, right?
Surely the "bonus" of Open and PvP is the additional fun people who enjoy it get by doing it?...then there's no in game bonus to PvP as it stands, all activities pose less risk or are more efficient if they're conducted in Solo/PG - even in Open the risk is determined by instancing, timezones and with the size of the galaxy, simply finding other players to add that risk.

PvP isn't so much designed as not prohibited, i.e. every player can choose to (or not as the case may be) shoot at anything they instance with, including other players. While that is the case then low effort / skill required ganking in Deciat (and other places) will happen.
Claims that "if only <insert new feature / change to existing feature here> happened then ganking would <choose from "stop", "reduce", "no longer happen">" would seem, while maybe well intentioned, to be at best naive - given that boredom is an often stated reason why some players that like to shoot at other players revert to popping player ships in Deciat.
Surely the "bonus" of Open and PvP is the additional fun people who enjoy it get by doing it?
What extra "game bonus" would they want or deserve for playing in the mode they prefer?
If it is "less fun" to play PvE in a PG then they're not going to do that as much.
Perhaps if someones would simply stop shooting everything that moves? Nah, not going to happen. Is there a compromise to be found between the two groups?

I understand there are PvP oriented groups that arrange scheduled activities. If there are organised by the game PvE activities, could there be organized PvP activities that give something more than the fun of the game?

It's the same for PvE players that want to play together or have events. It's not a bane exclusive to PvP players, yet they moan about it all the time. PvE players have to go through that all the time too. They require coordination between lots of players, who all must be available at certain times, so do not suit people with busy schedules, kids etc who just want to log on whenever they can for some PvP.
