How about raw potato? I had my own garden with potatoes (among other veggies and fruits) that I grown myself and ate raw no problem. Not green ones :) Dunno what the fuss about, never had any health problems with it and it tasted good. Probably because it was tamed potatoes which was friendly to me since I was friendly to them. Watching for any harmful insects, providing best soil, getting best fertilizers and so on. Now those evil corporate potatoes which are occupied all shelves in stores - they are ruffians for sure. They will eat you while you eat them raw. Quite an angry bunch if not cooked properly because nobody loved them and they had rough childhood.

Potatoes are part of the nightshade family and can produce toxins. Specifically solanine, a poisonous glycoalkaloid. Although the potato only produces very small amounts, it is found in higher concentrations in the green 'skin' of the tuber. Still pretty low levels though and you'd probably have to eat a lot before you came to any harm. :)
