The Public Alpha 2 Speculation Thread

Terrain Editor with water! ( no maps have any water, and all of the videos and dev videos have no water) I know they will add water, and I cant wait to have rivers and water features in my parks!
Full access to coaster editor and more track options (please have a woodie)
And just more theming pieces..

I hope they add a grid system to the path system just to augment what we have now.
Camera fixes? I have had many times where the camera just flew off to a extreme distance when placing objects at random..

Honestly though, for an alpha it runs better and has so many options now. When we get any update with content or rework it will only improve the amazing experience I have had already!

every time I think of something I see they are already working on it. Remember these developers actually play their game. They have been accused of playing it too much instead of building it. I trust them better than I trust myself.

As for bodily fluid...I have been to hundreds of parks and I have only seen vomit one time on a path. never seen urine nor anyone urinating outside of a toilet.

If they put in vomit on paths they might as well put in lightning strikes to the face because it happens just as often in real life.

I wouldn't mind seeing some puke :)

Also, bins and benches are welcome.

NO! Please no. We've been begging the developers over at RCTW to reduce the amount of vomit on the sidewalks, its just overwhelming and detracts from the gameplay. Why on earth would anyone want that added? Yukky, no no. [ugh]

I think that's because real people tend to make a B-line for the nearest trash receptacle or toilet if they feel queasy... As for pee, yeah no clue why RCTW thought that would add to their "realism", and figure that PC is wise to not have people relieving themselves in the middle of the street. I figure that if people aren't puking on the ride and need to throw up after then it would make sense for them to run to the nearest trash can...

I'd say that the amount of vomit on the sidewalks should be inversely proportional to amount of access that sick peeps have to toilets and trash cans. (In other-words, having enough trash cans or toilets for people to throw up in helps to keep that mess off the sidewalk, with the cans closest to nauseating rides being the ones that need changing the most often.)

So we don't hyjack Sawyer's thread with an up Chuck debate. We are knee deep in a vomit debate over here. https://forums.planetcoaster.com/showthread.php/5393-Vomit

Come spew your opinions with us.[where is it]

Well we know we are getting new paths, coasters, and the terrain Editor. I figure we will get a chunk of the fairytail theme.

I'm hoping they give us more nature scenery and unthemed decorations too.

Would be happy to just have more options of building pieces and nature styled scenery in that regards to go with what has been announced.

Water would be epic but feel it is coming later once this phase has been ironed out.

A game that came to mind while looking at the art style of PC was Ratchet and Clank (ps4 game and movie), certainly for the foliage side of things.

They are more cartoon in style than anything but they look beautiful and vibrant with lots of detail and the way they all sway in the wind, even the vines/seaweed on the building faces really brings that a great atmosphere and detail. I still feel for all the praise that the foliage has received (and yes it's a big step forward) it can be improved upon since it's such a large part of the game and now is the time to talk about it with it being Alpha and this live stream tonight.

I know on this subject others would prefer ultra realistic and some would be happy with the blob style cartoon that shall we say "cute" games have like on the Wii but I feel R&C hit a great level of best of both worlds. It helps that it is generally a beautiful game with great detail throughout in the environments.

Regards,

Adam

I'm hoping for the Coaster Editor to have:
• Testing while editing (ghost train)
• Track Smoothing Tool!
• Different Station Sizes, perhaps curved ones, too.

Terrain Editor is everything said before :)

I always assumed the puke was there to keep you from making unrealistically violent rides. Part of making a good coaster is not to traumatize the riders to the point of losing their lunches. Make your rides smoother and you have less puke.

I always treated the puke like litter. A necessary reminder that peeps are disgusting and vile beings who should be made to suffer on 10+ intensity rides :p

Seriously, too much puke, and it's stupid. Litter is a better reminder that janitors are a good idea...

As for Alpha 2, I'm looking forward to what they said they're giving us. Anything else is a bonus. I'm still looking forward to the management aspects, that being my forté, rather than the 'coasters.
