I thought that was in reference to the Zurara when it was mentioned scanning in a wing would have better luck finding it. Maybe I’m confused.The only stupid thought is the one that starts you trying to change the plug on an electrical appliance after drinking a bottle of Lavian brandy!
(And no, I haven’t done it! I received enough shocks in my teenage years when I was repairing TVs to know better!)
I think that mention was me requoting Cmdr Koben who said he recalled DB saying in a video interview that Raxxla would appear if we were in the right place and scanned the area enough. It may be a false rumour, it’s certainly unsubstantiated since nobody has come up with the reference to that video and it apparently disappeared from FD’s website. I would really like to find it and put the reference in the FD Quotes thread if anyone has it!!!

Drew Wagar did a series of videos about his ED lore tour, might be worth watching those (cant be sure, haven’t seen them!)
Ask questions here! Han_Zen and Thatchinho are knowledgeable on lore, as are quite a few others.
Edit: beware! a lot of old lore has been retconned out and is not canon for ED. And someone said don’t believe everything that is said, I think that’s a good philosophy both in-game and IRL!

Looks like it will be cancelled again in 2021; but you could probably still go in your Odyssey Pioneer suit, pretty effective against Covid (and mud!). Not sure if there would be any oxygen recharging facilities though

How to acquire the permit for Witch's Reach? Because my gut says that doing such an impossible task will answer some of these mysteries.

I simply though that it had been a matter of not knowing what and or triggering the permit granting event yet, rather than being unobtainable.

I thought for those you hand to become allied with the dominant power/group of that system, by doing missions for them in neighboring systems
No, I think the dominant faction is not always the permit giver. And at least one of the locked systems is unpopulated, or the faction only exists within the system. See https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threads/updated-permit-list.122593/

There logically should be a way to get the permit since at least one (Witch’s Reach) was mentioned in an early change note as having had military convoys placed there, hence some gameplay that we should be able to access.
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to investigate and solve this mystery and then report tothe Secretary this thread on the way to get these permits. Should be a doddle for a SAS man!
(I’d suggest covert infiltration disguised as an asteroid, and set up a FOB with a good IR telescope, a pack of Digestives, and a bottle of Lavian brandy; it could be a long mission)
