Glad you lot are still at it. I pop in from time to time to check in on the "progress."

Here's a thought. Is Salvation the story arc that unlocks the Col70 permit? And then we get answers to the original unknown artifact and then does that give us a "clue?"

Or do we think Col70 is solely thargy and unrelated to Raxxla?
Learning more Thargoid history is always good. We only have one of at least three perspectives on the Guardian / Thargoid conflict.
Raxxla feels closer to Guardian than Thargoid, but we may have the history of the wrong group.
Thargoids may know more than us, even about Raxxla.

Let’s face it, that would not be difficult!

ALL we know is that Raxxla is in-game, in the Milky Way, and it may be a definite place, but we don’t know what it is! Yet, we’re still looking for it!

Yes we are space-mad!

If Agatha Christie had written a plotline like that it would have been a flop!

So my attempt to figure out a "y" value was essentially moving up and down in the galaxy map until i didnt see little blue selection dots

h0qc41z.jpg

gave me a rough upper and lower boundary of the thickest part of the galactic "bulge" - I did this highly scientific measurement five times and then took the middle points and averaged them and got a magical number of -113 for my "y"

Therefore my projected center point is: 408 / -113 / 26941

And drum rolll.... I found squat there... so starting a search pattern

The map in the codex seems like a clue, unless we’ve had a sensible explanation of the strange coordinate system used, and those two dotted circles...

Good evening CMDRs,

Apologies for barging in. Been enthusiastically following the discussions from the sidelines but haven't seen this mentioned and wondered if anyone was experiencing a similar phenomena as me, I couldn't see it discussed prior or mentioned as a bug. Most likely a bug but I can reproduce it every time. I have also been absent for a few years from the game so I might have missed very early discussions of this occurring.

While using the DSS near a star (the brighter the better) If you angle the DSS so that the star is directly below but out of sight so technically you catch the lens flare, this weird... Artefact? Appears at the bottom of the DSS lens. It seems like a distinct geometric shape, like a series of stars which rotates with the ship. I've attached a few screenshots with the phenomena, one highlighting the shape and a few to show the different sides to it, plus one cropped and brightened to try and enhance the shape. I have verified that this works in 5 different systems and very easy to replicate. Donning my tin foil, it could be a groups of stars with this particular shape that is significant (I'm currently out near the Formidine Rift when I noticed this) It's probably insignificant, and most likely a bug bit the shape seems really odd, so I couldn't just leave it.

Again apologies if this is has been discussed before, just thought it was weird.

Welcome ! Ya i think we all love fresh ideas as we tend to churn over our pet theories into the ground 😁

Looks to me like a reflection from cockpit lights . Maybe look to see if there are overhead lights in a similar configuration? U have the christmas lights up im your cockpit ?

Fly a DBX, do you?

Yes, I’d think a graphics bug. It’s a bit reminiscent of the sysmap anomaly that Han_Zen reported and I put together a spreadsheet of the systems we spotted things in. Must put that in a shared area and post some pix/links

Nah, Krait Phantom. It could be something with Cockpit lights so it'd be interesting to see if it can be replicated in other ships.

That's a good point actually, I do have the christmas lights mounted in the Krait, when I get to a station next i'll try and remote them and try to replicate. It most likely is a graphics bug but the lights do not look reminiscent of any cockpit or ship light configuration I am aware of.

Thanks for your input guys, I think it is just space madness but now I can't stop staring at them

There was some discussion here in the past in relation to the existence of locations named after hills.

Did this ever go anywhere, what was the general consensus, was it ever considered as a clue?

Just milling something over, and right now there is not much to tie it down.

Definitely relevant if you ask me.
I've found a pretty good amount of permanent crashed ships (though generally without logs for some reason), and tourist beacons in systems with these planets, and so have gained a decent level of understanding of the Elite galaxy. Really it provides a pretty good study into various people, places, history, and mythology. Travelling past places that might be familiar to us can increase the level of immersion, as it's in a sense mimicking a person travelling around. The Laka star system is a great example of planets named after mountains (Puncak), and and Hawaiian mythologies (Laka and Kai-Kapu), and proof that there are nuggets of knowledge hidden in this way.
Increasing your Knowledge leads to Gnosis (Cosmic Enlightenment?). I've got spreadsheets of many of these.
Here's a rather incomplete sheet of peculiarly named planets.

"In one Hawaiian legend, Laka is the son of the Ali'i nui Wahieloa and Hoʻolaukahili, grandson of Kahaʻinuiahema. He plans to sail to Hawaii to avenge the murder of his father, but his canoe-building is thwarted by the little gods of the forest. Because of his offerings to the great gods, however, they give him two outriggers that binds together for his long voyage. He and his companions successfully steal the bones of his father from the cave of Kai-kapu."
-Wiki

The metaphor of this one is interesting, of the recovering of your Father's bones, in a game where you're on a journey, in the future, a time where everyone you know has actually been dead for over a thousand years. I'm likely reading way too into it though.
