trouble is that folk have tried everything - all ranks, missions, tipoff - pretty much every mechanic in the game, and no invite.

btw - this lack of progress is visible on all fora - tumble weed everywhere - the community is just out of ideas..

Which is all the obvious stuff.
If it had been ranks/missions then someone would have gotten an invite during gamma. When you've got hundreds of thousands of players, you need to set some pretty obscure criteria otherwise things get found almost immediately.
Bear in mind that the last time FDev tried to run a treasure hunt, the whole thing had been solved before 90% of the playerbase had had time to even log in.

I'm not so sure the Salome storyline has really come to an end. Currently at Prism but will go on to Anumclaw, Teorge and so on. Btw. Denton Patreus‘s Sigil looks alot like a square and compass. He seems to be no fan of the Club. As well as TDW.

If there's nothing I'll follow my Helix theory and go on visiting and mpping those systems.

An idea from the salome thread:

Some of those words could be planets or stations in game.

Did anyone ever organize and exhaustive search for things like station numbers braben repeatedly tells everyone to look at. He keeps hinting at stuff and nobody is listening or doing anything about it. And some that are are so picky that the info they receive isn't perfect nothing will ever get done. People really just need to do things in this game. It's partly the communities fault nobody will just work together and get stuff finished. We have a massive resource like the internet and it's not utilized anymore. If we just put all our heads together it can be done over time easily. And pretty quickly. Just display all info given so it's naturally checked and double checked incase of oddities and do it on a forum post with links to later post or lots of reserve posts. Add websites if needed. But i have not seen a complete one done. Let alone checking for changes over game revisions.

I'm surprised the whole game hasn't been flipped to check these numbers yet. All it takes is people doing it. Doesn't have to be complicated. It just has to be done. People used to enjoy stuff like that in games.

Not station numbers - beacon number transmissions - station numbers have nothing interesting.. this has been covered somewhere. Sorry.

No braben keeps hinting to check station numbers for fed. Why do you think there is nothing interesting if it hasn't been mapped. A major hint could be in where the station number are and how they are layed out. It could be a map to the history of how the bubble was mapped out and reveal raxxla or something. If not a massive potential time puzzle that could help with anything. for all we know there are missing station numbers or things that give hints to the bubbles history vital to understanding other puzzles. Same thing with the numbered exploration nodes from transport missions. I don't get how some things in this game are exhaustively followed but others aren't. You don't say there is nothing there unless you do it completely. And you don't then because you can't know if you missed something. That is the whole point.

This is part of the problem. Telling people not to do it when you haven't. This is why nothing is every found in this game.

And why everyone leaves the game who want to. All the naysayers getting in everyones way.

No he doesnt. Fed station number are just eye candy - they are derived from the market ID for the system, and then an offset of 256 per station from the star - there is absolutely no mystery in it and this was confirmed unofficially by someone at FDEV to me. There is nothing to see here.

The problem is misquotes and misunderstandings...

But does he? I thought the only mention/allusion to this was when he mentioned "numbered stations" but it has generally become accepted that he meant to say "listening posts." Is there more out there than this? I can't imagine that Federal Station numbers have anything to do with Raxxla.

CMDR Naysayer, out.

Confirmed in this thread by Simon Brewer at Frontier

DB himself confirmed it’s in-game, you just don’t know what (or where) it is! 😊

He does not confirm or deny it. He says it's a silly question and Ed says probably. He said Fdev knows where it is, but not that it's in the game. Could just be a screensaver, at the hq. Yeah... we see it every 20 min of inactivity. Or perhaps it's what they call the break room. Lunch time, let's goto Raxxla.

So what exactly would it take to convince you that it is in the game, since you seem determined to believe that it isn't?
