So, finished off Tionisla by travelling slowly 5kls above & below the star. Picked up a Mission USS- trading beacon near to Ing RIng; did the mission, collected reward, then nothing so I guess just another uss.

Does anyone know if the uss search procedure has been retested since the fss was introduced? Used to be you had to travel at less than 10c to stand a chance of detecting a uss, then you'd home in on it to drop in. I'm asking because I clearly remember MB saying something like "there are interesting things hidden off the ecliptic". Was anything interesting ever found well off the ecliptic? Either historically or since fss introduction?

Nowadays it seems all the uss I detect are close to the ecliptic....

off to walk the co-pawlot!

I don't think the 'no fluff' policy has been implemented yet. According to this post, it's still being considered: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threads/galnet-changes.519008/page-13#post-7947876

ah, reread the OP on that thread...
Steve benedetti:
"...we’re going to be reducing the number of GalNet stories that we produce and instead focus on covering in-game content.

In the foreseeable future, GalNet articles will concentrate on in-game activity "

So you are (as usual) absolutely correct & Edelgard may be wasting his time- Galnet is, for the immediately forseeable future, still fluffy!!!

edit: co-pawlot chewing ankle and growling. Definitely going for a walk!!!

Death a journey we all must make - so we have to turn off 'auto-respawn' somehow? I think there's a star system that you have to get to CQC 50 and then reset to 0 to unlock the permit for, don't quote me but do correct me if I'm wrong pls. If so then this M.O. is already in game so not impossible....
CD-43 11917 might be the permit you're thinking of. (No, I haven't unlocked it)

Attilius Orbital apparently has 20% off ships, 30% off weaps, 50% off defenses.

[Edit: In the Galmap it says "(Requires CQC Home World Permit)"]

Anybody ever got 3xelite with 0 insurance claims? I keep thinking how you could impress TDW and "learn more"?
I've only had 27 claims in just under 55 weeks, does that count? [Edit: Yes, 3x Elite]

[Edit, edit: And I'm about to haul 608 tons of LTDs to a market just over 100 Ly away]

[Edit, edit, edit: One minor coronary later, and I gotz another 730 MCR for my FC, lol]

Personally I think that the coming Galnet change is totally irrelevant to Raxxla. I don't think there ever has been or ever will be an article that's main purpose is to hint to Raxxla's location or nature.

I there are any hits at all, they will be in articles that really are about something else. In that regard, it does not matter if the article is fluff or not.

Agreed, which is why the WInking Cat series of posts is interesting, it doesn't seem to tie in with anything in particular; don't think even then it would be Raxxla-related, possibly TDW or perhaps The CLub?.
Whereas the Gan Romero fluff was clearly implying a Halsey/Guardian AI linkage.

off to walk the co-pawlot!

USSs used to be detectable up to around 250c. Above that they became tricky.

I still find all mine just by flying around, but I think they spawn differently now.

FSS/USS - with the FSS you can see all and any USS at any distance and resolve them, all resolved will show on nav panel regardless of distance, unresolved will still pop up when near. I cant always find them though, the USS with the scanner so not sure its 100% reliable. eg middle of nowhere, 2 signals, 1 sun and 1, one what? No blue blobs anywhere, even behind the sun, I could just be missing them as usually give up but i do look properly first. Normally they are just degraded signal sources in my experience, havent had Encoded or High Grade yet in the black.

Mis-jump and DW story - either its a mistake missed in proof-reading, its a setup by the DW and he arrived after, he had a time machine (ruled out of ED by DB) or the 'mis-jump' was somehow planned or forseen or maybe even caused....2 of them are logical, 1 is out of bounds and 1 is ridiculous.....this is the Raxxla threadm guess which one I'm going for...now how do I cause a mis-jump? something to do with stroking a one eyed feline while jumping,

Winking Cat , the Penguin, all these riddles set by a Riddler? I see where this is going...Raxxla is in the Bat Cave!

I do not think the TDW criterion is strictly related to rank as even the worst pilot can eventually grind out a high rank. It seems from the books etc that they are looking instead for 'skill' and in particular being able to win engagements when the pilot is at a major disadvantage. (Like killing a dangerous conda in a sidewinder while harmless etc would get their attention more so than rank.) In the dark wheel novella in the cobra v cobra fight at the end Alex was at a disadvantage in that his ship was not fully upgraded, but he was clever enough to find a way to win. A similar story it true for salome in DW books (despite not having a high rank see seems to have been made a member of sorts of the Dark wheel via Luko). I also suspect that get your ship destroyed resets any such metric related to impressing TDW back to zero.

If there is a starting point i would bet on it being in the old worlds.

For those who are VO mining for FC credits the old worlds are not a terrible place to do so. (recently there has been a good station to sell at within 2-3 jumps, and many icy rings to choose from albeit not pristine.) Tionisla has been my location of choice due to luko mentioning it in relation to TDW location back in the day. Doing so i had a few pop-up missions occur, but all were hopelessly bugged.

Finding the station which avoids detection is a test of skill and courage which gets you automatically an invite to be one of ours ? I don't think so.
Besides, if one finds that station, the entire community will find it too in the following hours. Invites for everybody , yeah !
Imho, it is not findable.
But, as always, with FD you never can tell...

Invite is a strong word. If you are Elite, you get docking permission.
Then you can read a few secret stories in the local news and perhaps do a few cool missions. You can probably rank up there, like with all other factions.
I don’t expect much more.
