I've been delving into some of the historical videos available from the official Elite Dangerous YouTube channel to see if there are any tip-bits in chats/releases/updates that might help us out a bit.

Michael Brooks makes an interesting point about SagA* (time ~26:30m ) being a special case, which I don't have context for, so I'm reaching out for collective ideas since I don't quite get if the reference. Is he referring that SagA* is actually different for known scientific reasons, or is it a special case because FDEV have decided to make it so?

He also mentions that another system was renamed, but deliberately they both choose not to reveal the original name (time ~36:30m).

Thoughts on these comments?

I notice Hannerib has picked up on it in a different thread too but on tonights livestream Paige did mention and confirm that fossils, lots of fossils, of what hasn't been revealed by the feds, were found on Mars before they found the Martian Relic. Whether they are the same culture or period is not known or discussed.

First Id heard of it, but it is now canon if it wasn't before. Also the Tesla got nicked by space pirates :)

Why isn't Raxxla on Mars or is Mars by a different name, Im sure theres a reason but I cant really think of it? Certainly nothing to link to 1984, no Sol in 1984 Elite, no lore that way but could it be that simple? (hope not)

Gotta find Augustus Brenquith's Griffin ship
Exioce III ???
Great stuff

Fossils on Mars is not new- see Galnet News, Foundering of the Federation, 5 July 3301
This article doesn't mention the Mars Artifact though. Recognizing the difference between the two events of finding fossils on Mars, and finding some kind of mysterious, small alien artifact on Mars/close to Mars is interesting. Apparently there is also a long gap between these two events. Unobscuring these two events reveals something about the nature of these events. Further information is required.

There is no confirmation of the fossils in ED. They are probably still part of FD’s timeline though.
When the game was released, the timeline was available on the ED home page. It still the backbone of ED history, even If parts of it is no longer valid.

The fossils are probably an indication of primitive life, on Mars in it’s distant past.

the artefact points to extrasolar visitors.

Here, let me help you:

I'm a proud member of said groups 🎩

Mars in general is interesting because so much ancient stories from from Andromeda and Perseus.
Perseus who sought the Greae, sisters of the Gorgons, to demand the whereabouts of the Hesperides
".. the Argonauts during their journey, came to the Hesperian plains .."
Mars Hesperian plains

Another ref, Martian Relic Galnet, https://community.elitedangerous.com/galnet/uid/57ee33959657baf15c5a5e67
Here the stories intertwine, Thargoids and the Relic.

I doubt all of this has any link to our mystery, however it's still nice to know the background for some the mythical names.
This is what you should be doing a Saturday evening folks 🤓

So .. i was getting drink usual saturday ...turned off swtor and 1st time got to Elite drunk.
...that was bad. I made squadron. Friendsip - frsp code.
Anybody crazy on raxxla is welcomed. However. We may use rus in chat there too, as I know it.

...and I still have ideas to check about magnetars, but 1st I need to open Earth access. Working on.
P.S. - last round galaxy trip payed out 2 billions. So i just trying figure how to spend it.
It could be more if u do fair jumps wout NS :D

Without diverting this thread onto it...the answer to both of those comments is....Fleet carriers :) coming soon, don't spend it all too soon

So for no particular reason and certainly not any deep investigation, scientific theory or ancient myth connection, I am now looking between Sol - Lave and maybe Tau Ceti for Raxxla. I keep thinking how 'big' Sol is in game compared to most systems, obviously we know more but theres a lot a long way out and now we have these new FSS mechanics maybe theres another system nearby that's also quite big.

So far nothing new. I've visited some Guardian systems again. Cool thing, there is another thread here which deals with the guardian bunkers. There seem to be drawings on top of them. Maybe just some fancy decoration, maybe something else. I never noticed them before.

Currently I'm reading the Dark Wheel text again..
Does anybody know whether someone tried to call his Commander "Henry Bell", got Elite, bought a Cobra, called it "Nemesis" and docked at Jameson Memorial?
Maybe that will trigger something? Could be this "tiny bit obvious" thing..
Interesting idea, haven't heard of anyone trying that. CMDR Henry Bell appears unused. Fastest CMDR to Elite?

Just got round to watching this, great find! MB manages to make everything and anything possibly connected to Raxxla in my mind.

Sag A special case - the galaxy has hotspots of star classes or types depending on the age of that bit. WDs are stars at the end of their lifespan so are in older systems in the older parts of the galaxy for example. the Three Pillars Nebula has mostly disappeared in 3306 and new stars and planets have formed at the beginning of their system lifespan from the stellar dust and gas. Sag A is the BH that makes our galaxy exist at all, we are all rotating and spiralling into it and also crashing into the galaxy next door. Sag A isn't a normal BH in that respect creating its own system, its Supermassive creating its own Galaxy and not in the main BH regions of galaxy space, I don't know about Universe space or time but I think we are in a fairly new galaxy space time wise.

Dunno about the renaming or the post behind it, may be more clues there. May be referring to Beagle Point or other requested one.

Still trundling through the Errant Marches.

Was Beagle Point ever renamed from an original system generated name?

Also on the Winking Cat art theft theory, could the 17th, 20th and 23rd centuries for the art works be a time reference? Perhaps 5pm, 8pm and 11pm?

Just a left field idea forming...

I seem to remember it was named after Erimus Kamzel, who first reached it in his ship DSS BEAGLE. But it was quite early in the game. Perhaps a search through FD Newsletters?
