Apologies if this has already been parsed but has anyone looked into Station X in the crab nebula? The system just has two astroid fields with a station in the field closest to the star.

A quick Google search shows the irl Station X was a British WW2 code breaking facility. I flew down here in a dolphin with no cargo space so I really haven't been able actually do any of the missions.

If memory serves the quote in question comes to us second hand. Drew Wagar had a face to face conversation with David Braben in which David told Drew personally that Raxxla exists in-game. I don't think (I could be wrong) that David has ever directly told the community at large that Raxxla exists in game.

He has, but only in a livestream, not on the Forum.

13:45 minutes in: “does Raxxla exist? There’s an interesting one. What a silly question, of course....You don’t know what it is though!”

That confirms DW’s hearsay (I never disbelieved him, but hearsay evidence requires corroboration!) report from Lavecom meeting and sets the implementation date of Raxxla as prior to the gamma; the “secret added” in the gamma changelogs then fits the Zurara since DW said the FRift storyline was finalised in-game in the gamme (well, not actually finalised, since the original abandoned Anaconda was later upgraded to a derelcit megaship!)

So Vetinari was correct & the gamma reference was not DB but was DW. I “misremembered”! 😁

And welcome back Jaiotu! Was thinking this morning after reading one of your old posts that I hadn’t seen anything from you for a while 🙂

From beta 1 patch note
-Expanded playable bubble to 21 ly radius (@50 systems)

From the gamma 2.00 patch note:
-Secret added

According to one of the comments on the Gamma, the whole galaxy was opened:
"So there are now 3.9 billion more systems with nothing to do in them but explore solo since I cant group or chat with anyone?"

Raxxla could have been there during the beta but out of reach as not included in the playable area. Couldn't find any other official reference (will edit if I do)

On a totally different subject, does anyone knows which col 70 sector systems are unlocked ? I think I saw some posts about few of them but I can't find those anymore.
I spent hours jumping around the area and using injection plots on the map to find a way in, without success.

Good points!
But after doing (based on my interpretation of TDW toast) some long distance trips out to Heart & Soul nebs, Broken Heart neb & Broken Heart Cluster, and dipping into quite a few Black Holes, I came to the conclusion that Raxxla should be in/near the bubble.

Both David Braben and Michael Brookes have confirmed that Raxxla is in-game, see first post of this thread for source references.

@Vetinari: As far as I’m aware DB said Raxxla has been in-game since the gamma release; what is the source for the interpretation that this was instead in reference to Zurara?

(Edit: it was because I believed DB said this of Raxxla that I produced a whole iPad Notes page on the gamma changelogs for analysis! But there was nothing evident in those 😉)

(Edit2: Drew Wagar did say that the FRift story was finalised during gamma, which would imply that Zurara was implemented then, but I’m convinced DB said something about gamma & Raxxla that was different
)

Of course, being in-game from the outset does not implicitly mean that it has been accessible from the outset; that is our interpretation based on understanding of how games are designed and expectations of fair play from FD. Since it appears that a certain (unknown) set of circumstances is required to unlock TDW and/or find Raxxla it is possible that set of circumstances was not available from the outset. For instance it could require a certain level of Thargoid kills & goids were not implemented from the outset.

That Raxxla is in game does not matter... and Yes we know for ages that it is in game.
Though this does not apply to the fact... “ can you visit or find it”.

It is in game but 99,99% it is locked somewhere behind the permit .... and it is kind of sensible that it will be most likely reachable in New Era content if the rumors are true about space legs and combat vs insectoid Thargoids outside the ships.

Till then keep dreaming find Raxxla... though even New Era has no guarantee that it will be unlocked by then

So, probably nothing, i happened across a lovely little system named Pollux. I thought it was interesting though because it has a named moon for what should be Pollux 2 a, called Cambridge, which is landable but has nothing on it visibly. Then i remembered Cambridge is where frontier developments offices are. The entire galaxy was created in Cambridge. I was wondering, why they would have named this moon after their office's home town? It doesnt appear to have anything there at all. No bases, no installations, no volcanism.

Then i started thinking. One place Raxxla may possibly be might be in fdev's office somewhere, in their home town of Cambridge. It would make a little bit of sense to me and i bet most people would over look this as too easy, or obvious and move along. Im sitting here fuel scooping, I dont happen to have a surface scanner equipped atm. Have any of you happened to have mapped this moon yet? If so, did you notice anything noteworthy or curious?

One of the moons in the system has a station named Naddoddur Survey. (I pronouced this in my head as 'not a door' survey lol)

Oh also there's a listening post. I'll let you all know if it has anything of interest to share in a few minutes.
I’ve spent quite a bit of time in Pollux (and Castor, his twin).
I can’t remember exactly what the working theory was, but Castor and Pollux were Argonauts and sailed with Jason (not Ryder), in the quest for the golden fleece.

I never found anything. Hope you do.🙂

Afaik the whole of Col 70 sector is still permit locked.

Out of all the stuff I've been able to find, the only connection i was able to put together was the name of their mother, Leda, which was pronounced the same as Lita (as in Lita Crane). So what i loosely concocted was...

Lita = phonetic hint at Leda (mother)
Mother = possible reference hint at Mother of Galaxies (grasping at straws here i know)

A few days or so ago, some of us were trying to compile a list of female astronomers in an attempt at potential 'mother of galaxies' reference. I found some that i think went unnoticed. In Nuenets there is an installation called Jun Arsenal. I believe this to refer to Jun Chen.

Also in Nuenets is Betancourt Enterprise.

Also Nuentes, Lee Terminal. This one is a coin toss though as there is Janice Lee, Julia Lee, Annette Lee, Joon Hyeop Lee (idk if this one is male or female), among others

The reason i used all of these from Nuenets is it's system description...

"This busy trinary system has terrestrial planets orbiting the two companion stars. The locals aren't particularly friendly and appear to be harbouring a dark secret."

Hmmm.... a 'dark' secret you say? That seems like it could be there 'for those with eyes to see' potentially. Thoughts?

Very curious indeed....

I checked out the listening post. It happens to be in french (i believe) which i though was interesting since i know the game is translated into a good number of other languages and i assume french would be among them.

I ran it through google translator and got this result...

I know google isnt always 100% correct so i wanted to cross check it here because i know where hail from all over the world. I wonder if this is some sort of code or cypher? Those arent my strong suit. Anybody good at codebreaking?

I found this wiki about the source of the quote.

Always worth a Google search! https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threads/clarification-on-pollux-listening-post.421679/
I wasn't aware of this LP, but will add it to my summary LP/UCB sheet asap.

edit-sheet updated!
Edit2: 90% Deadly; hands & wrists definitely aching!

Sadly, I can't say that I'm actually back. I was logging into a bunch of sites to update passwords. I'd have to say that it's been over a year since I've done any serious playing or contemplating the mystery of Raxxla. Frontier's stance regarding the place of Lore in Elite Dangerous pretty much put a nail in the coffin for my passion for the game. Lore has always been a huge part of Elite starting with The Dark Wheel Novella and all the way to releasing eight books to go along with the latest version of the game.

I had a lot of fun with Elite and hanging out with all of you on the forums. On the bright side I've lost about 14 kilograms (30 pounds) since stepping away from the game and now use the hours that I once spent each day piloting the galaxy to be more physically active and engaged in my family's lives. No complaints. Fly dangerous, CMDRs.

Greetings Commanders,

possibly an old hoax, but it looks interesting nevertheless. I haven't found this link in the forum, so I post it here. If I'm wrong, sorry and forget this post.
So, has someone checked this picture?: Too good to be true?
Could be manipulated, of course. But for me it doesn't seem so. I've checked the image using Gimp and other tools. And it might be real.
I can't find any strange artifacts in this picture, which would suggest a manipulation.
Please prove me wrong or I'll go crazy.
What do you think? Confirmed hoax? Manipulated image? (If yes, how can you tell that it has been manipulated? (I'm eager to learn .. :)))

I'm panning and zooming around the galaxy map to find an angle which could lead to the possible area where the pic was taken. Difficult..
Even if its real, which it probably isn't, it doesn't really provide any useful information to finding it. Also if you're going .14c it'd take you almost 11 minutes to travel 92Ls, not 6:41.

It was another guy claiming the same about 7 months ago. So 1 of them lies 200%.
Also ...that size in his target ...is damn huge. 92ls - planet must look like a point from such dist.
And you can be sure it is planet. Check radar - it is planet size like all others around except bigger, which is star.

Unless it is moving too.

It could have rings or dust cloud around it.
Also It could teleport player to Polaris after some sort of interaction
