Maybe we could make friends with the Thargoids. Let's go gank the Xeno hunters that target the NH signal sources. Anti-Xeno methods are generally set for bug killing only so I don't think they would fair well with the addition of Human ships on the side of the Thargoids.

I hope you enjoy my analysis of The Alien World The Complete Illustrated Guide and how it ties to the elite galaxy.

Very nice !

I would just add to your list the book by Edwards and Holdstock "Tour of the Universe"
which i think is what is being referenced when the codex talks about the childrens story of princess astrophel.
VdJyRiK.jpg
The book (written in 1980) is as named a Tour of the Universe won by two young lovers with the big prize being on the first trip to the Aurora-Magellan system (Magellanic Cloud) since they recently opened their borders again.

NIPStLH.jpg

The first reference is the name of the ship that takes them from the Sol system to the Magellan Gate (stargate) - the name of the ship is Starfriend aka Astrophil...

The Aurora Magellan Federation is what rules the Magellanic Cloud. - Aurora is the Roman name of the Greek god Eos who happens to be the mother of the stars.

Also later in their travels there is an interesting ballet called "gravity well" reminiscent of the story of the Dark Wheel from Alien Worlds

So I generally think that we are looking for some kind of Stargate.. that will take us to the Magellanic Clouds...
"It is also far to easy to think of a Stargate as a single 'hole' from one part of the Galaxy to another; Whilst there is certainly a main bore, or Eye, most Stargates have peripheral connections with other 'edge-sinks'..." (Tour of the Galaxy: Extract from the Hanted Eye Myths and legends of the Stargates)

There is of course that whole thing about the Dead World scroll and the Voice Mounds ... which could be a poetic description of oracle/omphalos...

Anyhoo... ya I still am half heartedly working my way across the Marches... towards Aquilas Halo and then maybe the Void...

PS Congrats Jorki !!!

We could also befriend a renegade group of Thargs and help them to push back the hostile ones out of the Galaxy. I read some posts about a war within those guys (official lore or speculation?) which could benefits humans.
That would create trading, fighting, exploration,... to support the war effort. Bring some new dark stuff on Aegis, and why not give some clues about Raxxla (if linked to the Thargoids)/Witchspace navigation. If those rebels are a thing, and they're losing their civil war, they would probably not mind getting allies, share knowledge (adding new modules, weapons and ships) and even integrate Human/Guardian techs to their own.
That doesn't mean they won't turn against human once freed from their enemy and buffed with Humans/Guardian tech. So we still got a nemesis to fight against - A hive mind would, most likely, not trust the unreliability of separate entities that behave independently and according to their unique past experience.

Of course the above is just pure speculations.

Two factions of thargoids (relatively benign Oresrians and ravening Klaxians) locked in a civil war, Oresrians losing and looking to draw the Klaxians through the bubble for humanity to act as a meat shield while they make their escape is mentioned in the plot of both Out of The Darkness and Premonition, two FD-sponsored books (& good reads). Since they are FD-sponsored I tend to believe them. Apparently we only have the Oresrian (with whom we fought previous Thargoid war) side of that; they could be lying.

FD intimated that a choice of conflict or otherwise was available to humanity. I never saw any sign of a choice in-game, although the goids did not attack human ships until recently - there is a strong possibility that early “thargoid attacks” were staged by the Black Flight special ops npc (apparently the logs at the Relay Station in Celaeno reveal this, but I haven’t tried to get those yet, next job on my personal journey). However the pew pew afficionados took the decision out of our hands.

Mm, interesting and instructive points there! Never heard of "Tour of the Universe” before, but Starfriend for Astrophil seems convincing. I had been wondering where “the childrens story of princess astrophel” came from and fitted in.

The only problem with this hypothesis is that FD (I think both DB and MB) have said they have only implemented one galaxy in-game, so if Raxxla is an intergalactic gateway it can’t have much on the far end. But nice post mate!

The only choice I've been aware of in game was back when we still had AXCZs. You were able to choose the thargoid side of the fight. Im surprised gankers weren't all over that tbh since ax and guardian are not very effective against human ships.

The choice was supposed to be whether to fight or befriend thargoids. CZ selection of side to fight for would loosely fit, but the fight had already started by then so the choice should have been available long before-around the time when hyperdictions started. Several of us tried flashing lights, etc to try to communicate with thargoids but no result. Might be worth trying this as a tactic if AX CZ ever return to see if you can cuddle up to a goid; seem to remember MB had a plush UA at one time! 😁
OOOOOHH! Actually perhaps that was a hint at the befriending mechanism? Something to do with UAs?? We never did get round to fully solving the UA riddle, but they are thargoid sensors, so perhaps their function was to detect friends as well as enemies?

The war between Thargoids and Guardians started because the Guardians settled on planets that were seeded with Barnacles. We did more or less the same in the Pleiades, so I guess a conflict was unavoidable.
It does however seem that we can work on our personal reputation with the goids, by donating cargo they like or supporting them in AX CZ.

Potential spoiler.

Generation Ship Thetis refers to a signal picked up from/around an uninhabited planet and gives an approx. range. Doesn't specify type or whether landable or not.

Currently looking in that range, as expected nothing so far and probably just fluff but maybe that's the DW station and that's a clue or maybe a hint towards Raxxla. Cant find anywhere that anyone has found anything connected and 99% don't expect to find anything but checking just in case....and its fun just to chase a mystery.

If you look closely at the message it is definitely a partial Comms Log picked up so human in origin, but where from? I haven't got all the Comms Log by any means and cant make any I do have fit the message but wondering if that's all it is or something more.

Anybody know if all the Gen Ships left from the same place (Sol, Tau Ceti?) or were they built and launched from all over? Is there one point of origin or more than one? Currently assuming from or near Sol for directional vector but have no idea what the lore is.

Little search of myself like Shinrarta Dezhra ==> "Life, she saw, hope" in ancient Earth languages (Russian and Arabic )

Raxxla in my native language, Dutch, we speak it out as Raksla, with silent "s".

The closest I came to the word "raksla" / rak'la) is in Sanskrit language.

ps: don't know if ever been searched to like this?

I think it’s “background fluff”, however I have been known to be wrong (on rare occasions! 😁). Others have looked for that planet without success. Of course we don’t know how far/whether the Thetis might have carried on along its journey path before stopping where it is now found.
However I suspect this “background fluff” is hinting at hostile AI, just like the abandoned settlement logs that talk about a mysterious corpse which then comes to life.

Another website found

Rākṣasas literally means ‘beings from whom one seeks to protect oneself,’ ‘demons’.

There I found a few names, which I searched on Google + Inara
  1. Prahlāda
  2. Virocana
  3. Bali
  4. Vṛtra
  5. Bāṇa
  6. Sambara
Below systems in Elite Dangerous
  1. Prahlada
  2. Viro - without cana ?

  4. ? not found
  5. Bana
  6. Sambare

Thanks! - Ya still marginally searching for those cunningly concealed facts ;)

Found 32 barnacles on one of the Pleiades systems, up from 2 last time I was there. Went back to Celaeno to investigate the Black Flight comms relay station. Swapped exploration Phantom for batle Krait 2, including swapping out all AX weapons for conventional PA + MC & fuel scoop/FSD booster for HRP. Popped over to relay station expecting a dozen angry Elite black ops fighters all intent on terminating me and protecting their secrets. No aggression whatsoever! Admittedly I dropped out of SC almost in the structure so went straight round the shiplog uplink points, grabbed all the logs, went quietly back to Artemis Lodge to regain the exploration ship. Not unhappy, my hands are still hurting!
But there is a logical sequence to some of these in-game things. I think the relay station logs were supposed to reveal a couple of wreck sites and existence of thargoid surface structures (mother ships??). Of course things happen non-sequentially in a game like this (I visited these wreck sites a while ago after seeing the list on the Canonn site), but pondering whether part of the “personal journey” is visiting the relay station, various wrecks, surface sites, etc. DB did intimate in one of the vids that the personal journey was based on following missions around the bubble.
