What a difference a month makes. I've finally managed to damage my ship. I made a mistake scooping by miss judging my angle.

I'm still relatively close to the bubble visiting bucket list nebula's and finding the occasional ELW.
I spent some time in an asteroid base system where I was able to gather goods to re-load my heat sink. I have 3 re-fills now.
Next up is re-stock up on jumponium. (Nice changes to that)

Re-stock of jumponium was successful. It was a nice change of pace to run around and collect mats. However one of the moons i chose had zero light, it was in total eclipse from the main star. So landing in the dark was a bit scary.

Imgur and the forum have't been playing nicely together for several days. It's not clear if it's a forum issue, or an Imgur issue.

Since the images still work directly from Imgur, it makes me suspect that they added some referral-based anti-hotlinking rules, or something like that, but it's hard to say.

Unbelievable. I admire your patience... I'm more like, find some target, will try to go there as fast as i can. Will learn such patience and appreciation for the beauty out there too one day...

However, I wonder. How do you keep your PP in such good shape? Doesn't it auto-deteriorate like all the other components? I thought it did but could have been my own scooping mistakes.

PP damage comes from SC drops.
I've made a couple of scoop mistakes and a few drops of my own making.
It doesn't auto-deterioate. (as far as I know no modules do)
Your hull integrity does however.

Either way I'm flying safer than my last long trip.
That was 18 months and I came back with 76 % Hull and 74 % PP

The PP will dictate how long I stay out this time. (i hope to get hull repairs on DW2)

So for the 1st time in ~ 34 months of exploring I've managed to run myself out of fuel.
I knew I was low, so when i jumped into a Carbon star I got the "Main fuel tank empty" warning. I had some fuel in the reserve tank but very little. Looked for a scoopable system that was close but couldn't make any jumps.The system I was in had the main carbon star which are unscoopable but it also had 3 other M stars. I made a bee line for the nearest one but ran out with 346ls to go. Dropped out and my modules were badly damaged across the board.
I logged out as i only had 7 minutes of air left.

I dialed up the fuel rats. And with around 30 mins of coordinating and such a commander showed up an gassed me up. She also repaired my hull. The whole ordeal took about an hour. Special thanks to CMDR Aileana!
I love me some Fuel Rats!

Lagging behind DW2 but I will get caught up in time to finish the event.
As usual having a blast.

Some absolutely brilliant shots there Commanders!
Time to fire up my AspX and get back out there, enjoyed DW2 so much More than I expected.
I tend to think the Due West direction is under explored...any way of telling which area is least explored?
