The Smuggling discussion thread

Nicely said. As a smuggler I have strived to earn the pennies for a long while wondering why I was getting underpaid for my skills....
Unfortunatly I am on an ill-timed long range exploration jaunt and I can just feel it, that FD will nerf it before I get back.....

17 million an hour in an asp is well out of whack of everything else. Smuggling needed some love though, thats undeniable.

If fd leave this as it is though, it means there is no mid game anymore.

How much exactly can you make per hour with this powerplay bonus?

Under certain Powerplay Ppowers, like Zachary Hudson, you can get a 100% increase on all of your combat bond kills…so if you go to a High Intensity Conflict Zone and kill enough ships to earn yourself 5 million credits in a hour, when you go to turn in the bonds you actually get 10 million credits.

Then there's the increased interdiction rate, the pirates, the police and the difficulty of evading an interidction to think about and the instant scans etc. It's really not a simple A to B job. Lots

You forgot the rank 2 bonus which is also given.

And that is why it is so much more fun than just bulk trading.

Thanks for your reply - I understand the process though so I'm wondering...is there anyone who's done this who could say precisely how much they made using these bonuses? Was it 10 million, or more?

Nice to hear a true report. :)
But my god I dream of 17 mill an hour. That's definatly OP to me too.
Been smuggling narcs lately in a 16.3k cr/ton/hr route and I thought that was gravy.

Exactly why I think it is more fun now than ever before. And some of the ships that I have been interdicted by would blow the smaller entry ships out of the sky. So people jumping into an ADDER and a DBX, and even an ASP would probably not last too long, especially if they are new to the game and not experienced. There had been a few times I was glad for the boost speed in my FAS when I was interdicted by a wing of 4 NPCs.

And for me, smuggling has been how I have played 90% of the game. Once in a while I hit a HIREZ or a conflict zone, and I have traveled out of the bubble about 2000ly, but by far I play a smuggler. So maybe that makes me biased and liking the new payout and long hauls.

+100% bounties payout. And normally bounties varied from 80,000 to 270,000 (ignoring everything small if possible). Single kill usually takes one minute in good outfitted anaconda/python/FDL. Thus roughly 10.5 million per hour in pure bounties, or 21 million with doubled bonus.
Of course also not a cakewalk, you need to be both good at piloting, and at picking targets - not to get too much aggro on yourself at a time (otherwise you'll need spend more time on getting back to stations to replenish shield cells). But nevertheless, it's possible.

meets my experience from last weekend (even if i was able to make a little bit more CR/h, due to aliied rank with sirius corporation and feds).

the thing is, you can't do it in between (on a normal work day, at least for me). but it makes an amazing intensive session with a great payout, too.

a great possibility to play this game!

17 million an hour in an asp is well out of whack of everything else.

To get these supa-high paid missions you have to
- be friendly or allied to sirius corp
- be tycoon or elite

so no such thing for newbees in their first asp...

only to get the "wording" and "meaning" right.
I'm only entrepreneur and not friendly so the highest payout is 1-2 mill for 5 units... so compare! I will get per load 20-30 mill for 4-6 hours so... what's OP about that?

=> its fine as it is!

Alright, thanks dude. :)

People seem to be overlooking the fact that someone doesn't have to logout/login to stack missions, whether they be for charity, combat, smuggling, etc. The BB gets refreshed every 5-10 min. I leave my session running all day and keep checking the BB for new missions. Takes less than 10 sec. Then, when I'm ready to play at night, I go off into the black with my 10 or 20 stacked missions. So, even if FD added BB persistence across sessions, it wouldn't really change the gameplay. That's probably why they don't seem to do anything about this. Me? I'm happy as it is. I've never made 58M in one night until last night. I got to Entrepreneur trade rank doing AFK A/B trading - boring but necessary. Long distance smuggling is very exciting so I'll keep doing it.

I've always smuggled , and unless it's made totally impossible always will, regardless of payout - it's the most fun way to play the game (in my opinion of course).
I'd never log in and out to refresh anything (idea is as weird to me as using aimbots or something in other games - where's the challenge ?). Whether it's stolen goods, missions , salvage what have you - I'll haul it - oh and always in open while pledged to a power to boot (Mahon). Quite why people want to play safe and never get their digital stuff blown up or lost has been a mystery to me. (if they are that timid in a game , what are they like in real life - do they ever get out the house ? :p )
Thank heavens a game has come along that actually has a little bit of consequences and for once might actually reward taking a risk.
So my advice is try smuggling - just be prepared to have to get good at it or face the consequences.

As I like to try everything that offers easy money (My game so why not?) Ive just tried this. I have never smuggled before and this offered me the incentive to try it. An hour and 18mill odd . Interdicted a few times , silent running no issues . Just a bit of a long drag but with a fully kitted explorer ASP with 30 ly jump wasnt really a big deal.

Dont see how this is affects anyone else. I tried something I would never bother with and it was mildly amusing. I enjoyed it , it hurt no one and that is all that matters to me.

Hell Ive been playing the game since PB and I still havnt got a Conda so I feel I can do what I like. I rare traded when it was stupid money packed it in after a couple days due to boredom. This will be exactly the same . After doing this for a few hours Ill go back to mucking about in game doing nothing special . Too many game police on these forums for my liking pointing fingers at others and how they play . ITS A GAME. Pointing fingers at no one in particular by the way just a general observation.

I hope mining gets an easy way to make a load of cash . Ill try that then. For a few hours anyway.

300 million a day IS OP. No other path of the game has a payout like that when it comes to credits per hour. I saw a maximum of 30 million per hour when it comes to bountyhunting (hence all PP-Bonuses incl. former Merits-Farming). Trading is at 10-15 million, all other are way below.

Dont get me wrong - I like it the way it is .. But I am Tycoon and Tronda and making 7 mil/hour trading (booooring) and people on this forum say it is uber!. So Conda 140mil <> Asp 4.9 mil ... lets be serious about this not?
