The Smuggling discussion thread

I believe that the intensity of the insult to people who got that kind of money in a fair way, was unintentional. Unless we are talking about 1.3 ALD bounty hunting, that was equally messed up.

2.5 hours -> 55 million including mission search time and having to travel to Sothis. I pitty those that think this is fair. Not to mention it bumped my 90% elite rank to 100+

from the effect of all these missions on the bgs in my understanding, we should see decreased system security and lockdown, civil unrest and civil war in sothis/ceos/robigo soon.

Don't worry, BGS is bugged beyond playability right now, I wouldn't worry about it.

Has anyone considered that things are working AS INTENDED? I.E., Frontier MADE this intentionally, and as a result of so many people taking advantage of, it is going to cause some massive, in game, galaxy affecting consequences? Like a MASSIVE slave revolt as a result of the HUGE amount of slaves being sold and shipped? I mean, think about it; where are all these slaves COMING from? Human trafficking being a real and terrible thing in the RL, in today's world most trafficked humans are either kindnapped from their families, or tricked into slavery while trying to cross international borders.

So consider this. Trade those slaves, if you must. Make your millions. But remember that they MUST be coming from somewhere.

And don't forget, in the game EVE online, an entire FACTION was born when the slaves revolted against their Amarrian masters, eventually forming the Minmatar nation.

What, I wonder, will come of this? Perhaps nothing.

Perhaps...

Super off-topic, but actually most slavery in developing countries comes from debt. For example, this effects roughly 2 million people in Pakistan alone! :(

Its basically Imperial Slaves, but the debts is always artificially increased so they'll never actually pay it of. Compare it with Indentured Servitude in the early days of the US.

:p

actually, i wouldn't worry if bgs wasn't bugged, too. decreased system sec, lockdown, civil unrest and civil war should lead to more smuugling missions (either more narcotics or more weapons or both.)

My point is, it is beyond our control, and what control we do have as a player community is less than the bugs. The good news is Frontier has the bug reports. Come to think of it, I wonder why I am still posting about this stuff.

Well just enjoy it until your cup is full or its changed, and yeah FD could run a story line from this, would be good, im all for more depth in reasoning.

I am sorry but I am living proof that it is OP. I was at 12% tycoon before I knew about sothis. after doing so many missions today, I hit elite in trading . My friends that were really poor all got anacondas today. Please this is over powered end of storyhttp://i.imgur.com/KooqDhN.png

Pretty much this. Many here from release or before took months to get an end game ship. Now a week and you can have a fleet.

Fine if it stays like this but what I find frustrating when fd then nerf it because its op. There are People that barely get time to play and people out exploring that miss out on the opportunity. Fd think things through and then release and stick to plan. Not rush something out and then decide to nerf it because you made a massive mistake.

Well at least somepeople will afford the fed corvette.

I went to Sothis this last night and picked up 4 smuggling missions in my dbx. I made around 10mcr in about an hour, (not counting the time it took to get there from 600ly away). In that hour I was harried from system to system, interdicted, chased and shot at and it was the best fun I've had in ages.

Just to clarify, in these missions, does the game spawn pirates that hound you AND System Authority? Or just pirates and then you have cops scan you around the star port like usual?

I'll vaporize every pirate that I come across, but I don't want to get a murder bounty for destroying a system authority ship.

this. and system sec chases you through the system sometimes, interdicting you, dedicated to scan you, follows you to outposts... good fun!

Ahh ok that might be a deal-breaker for me. Waiting 7 days for the bounty to go away is too annoying.
