Yes i know, the Space is really big. But if you are in a wing and want a combat with another wing and they dont meet each other, than it is a problem. And it is another problem, if a clan wants take effect on a minor faction in a system and other player in other instances or modi are able to prevent this. It is a fight against an invisible enemy

I vote for a candidate, someone votes for theirs.. they don't have to vote in sight of me and give me a chance to interfere with their vote. If you are supporting a faction then you help how you can, some others will be against, others will help too. PVP is not required, just as it isn't required in Powerplay.

Solo mode must be abolished and everybody is happy.

You'd have more people happy if Open was abolished than if Solo was I suspect. You may want to look at all the things that happened during the Kickstarter..

I want Solo and Group to stay. I suspect that several other people want them to stay as well.

People have different personality types and will enjoy different things in the game. Frontier have done a good job of embracing this diversity.

Cheers, Phos.

Hi Benedictus, I read English is not your first language, and I'm in the same boat. So we stick up for each other I say, and I'll give you a hand :)
That they feel that they are more important than everyone else
So the needs of these players do not matter?
"So" indicates you can draw the conclusion you're about to make from the statement you replied to. The statement being, that Open players feel they're more important. Whether that statement is true or not, is not important for now.

But in this case, you cannot draw that conclusion, since it disregards to more obvious conclusion: Open players and Solo players are both as important.

Moving on:
They think everyone should play with them while ignoring the fact the game is instanced and played over time zones - so there are people they'd never see anyway.
To discuss about the failure of instances is also forbidden?
Now here's not a linguistic issue, rather one of implication. By asking your question, you're implying the previous statement made that claim. No one is claiming discussion about instances is forbidden.

Absolutely, that is a problem.

And it is another problem, if a clan wants take effect on a minor faction in a system and other player in other instances or modi are able to prevent this. It is a fight against an invisible enemy
How is that a problem when both parties can take advantage of that mechanism?

It's not as much of a problem as rather a solution. The solution to being forced to comply with organized player group who easily overpower single players from doing what they please wherever they please. And that organized players group can still take an effect on a minor faction, while others try to prevent this. PvP is not the only means to work against each other.

No no no no no. The Solo player would not be happy. They are afraid of griefers. They should keep their protected space
Assumption on the single motivator of a diverse group of players is never a good idea.

You get it wrong. Get rid of solo and half the players would not be able to play as often as they would, because they do not have the required bandwidth/routers, etc., etc. You are so narrow minded with your reasoning, like everyone is afraid of your big, masterful, open powers. They are not. In fact they laugh. They laugh with such a laugh upon those big masterful pilots that even Chuck Norris chuckles at the attempt to look big and frightening... :p

106 votes out of how many players in ED? Plus myself and many others never voted in that poll.. so what is the point you are trying to make?

Hello all

I see a few new posters here - welcome to the ongoing saga of open v solo v groups. You may find this song is appropriate - http://mistysbigadventure.bandcamp.com/track/the-long-conveyor-belt

This thread attracts heated debate from all of the interested parties. Please don't contribute to the heat by using terms such as 'carebear' or 'hiding' or 'griefer' or 'psycho' etc. These are pejorative and will probably get moderated.

Enjoy the stay. You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave.

Back to the roots : Elite Dangerous
Currently it is Elite Harmless

Formed in 2805 after the great surge in private ownership of smaller starships, the Pilots Federation soon found a role as a conduit for trade route information exchange between trusted pilots and provided the infrastructure for a mutual protection scheme against the rising scourge of interstellar pirates.
Planet-siders began to distrust the generally itinerant nature of starship captains, who always seemed willing and able to jump to a new system before the law caught up with them. The Pilots Federation’s zero tolerance policy of dishonourable behaviour amongst its members is enforced by a system of bounties automatically placed on the heads of transgressors.
This built a galaxy-wide respect for the badge, which then started to be worn with pride by members. However, the organization’s official adoption of the 9-level ‘kill tally’ ranking system (Harmless through to the coveted Elite status) ensured the Pilots Federation retained a level of blood-thirsty notoriety.
Over the centuries the Pilots Federation has remained secretive in nature and neutral in conflicts, and has grown into one of the dominant financial superpowers of the galaxy through its GalNet data network. Originally a star chart, ship data and bounty management system, GalNet has evolved into an effective galactic infrastructure and content monopoly on news, market pricing and communication systems. This has not been without controversy, with periodic claims of data hoarding and abuse of its position.
It’s not surprising that an organization founded on status, and with such influence and power, has several cliques (The Dark Wheel being the most infamous). Or that those of Elite rank have further exploited their status and the incredible demand for their services, by forming an organization within an organization; the Elite Pilots Federation.
Relentless, increasingly well organized piracy and the need to maintain their reputation and influence as the best of the best caused the Elite Pilots Federation to start opening its membership to candidates from the Deadly rank who were able to pass a rigorous test and then, as demand continued to soar, to those from the Dangerous rank.

Yes thats right, u can make combat logging, you can hide in a nother modus (private, solo), you are able to play a MMO without having any contact with your enemy. That's exciting. No risk at all in a game called "Elite Dangerous"

MMO does not mean "PvP"

Google what MMO means please.

Also, the "Dangerous" comes from the story

That's the big misconception you have. You try to play MMO, but E: D is a single player game with some multiplayer elements tacked on. :)
