iwe come in with real arguments of how broken the solo game mode is by interfering with an open game world
Solo Mode = Matchmaking server will never match you with another CMDR
Group Mode = Matchmaking server will match you only with CMDRs you approve of
Open Mode - Matchmaking server will match you with any CMDR, regardless of their motivation, playstyle, mentality and desires
It is
the same Galaxy. If you could "Open" your mind and try to view the situation from the other Modes points of view, you would see that in the opinion of those that favour the first two modes, they don't care about which mode you choose.
They might wonder why you choose to make a choice, then complain to others that don't make that choice, that they are making an incorrect choice, one that invalidates your choice and one you would like to take away from them so you can impose your choices on them without any care for their contentment?
When I played Elite on the C64 I dreamed of a day when I could somehow use the crazy MUD idea one of my friends was playing, to be able to be playing alongside him and other friends in a cooperative Elite world. I don't ever recall wanting to use that technology to blow up random strangers' ships and impact on their game play. The thought is alien to me.
I can reasonably understand your perspective, in that you want other ships to shoot, because that brings you pleasure. I have played MMOs since Everquest Kunark Era, so I do know and understand the Player Killer mentality. It isn't for me.
What I think would be appreciated, might be you trying to understand why other players are happy with the game as it is and is likely to remain. This appears to be the difference between the two areas of discussion:
One side understands the other but does not want to play the way they play
The other side cannot understand the first and wants to force them to play in a way they obviously don't choose of their own volition.
