Separate Open Play from Solo and Private, Frontier, please listen

Hello everyone.

I have played the original Elite and could not wait to play Elite Dangerous and it is awesome! However, there is 1 game breaking element that needs to be addressed.

I think that the Open Play and Solo play must be separated. The galaxy status "should not be shared" with Xbox One players and Solo players.
Solo players should be happy playing "Solo". That is there should be a separate accounts of credits for Open Play and Solo Play. Example". I am a pirate and I am hunting down trading ships. Trading ship exits the game and switches to Solo, he just "escaped" from me. Example 2. I am a bounty hunter. I am chasing after a Pirate. A pirate switches to Solo and is "safe" from me. Example 3. I am a trader. I can go anywhere I want safely in Solo as long as I can handle AI pirates, which is very easy. Example 4. I am a trader playing only in Open and trying to make a living evading human and NPC pirates. Another trader plays in Solo and we share the same trade route. The trader in Solo will make much more money than the Open world trader because he does not have to worry about human pilots. However, at the end of the day, the Solo trader depletes the resources for the Open Trader. How is it fair or fun? It is either Solo or Open World for everyone. Those 2 worlds must be separated!

I am not ashamed to admit that I switched to "solo" as a trader to ditch my shields in Type 9 and haul more cargo. I do not have to worry about human pilots. When I have $320 MIL for a fully outfitted Python , I will switch back to "Open" and hunt some pirates. When my money will be low, I will jump back into my Type 9 and switch to "solo" and make some quick and easy cash fast! Why would I be trading in the "open" in Type 9?

Frontier - please do something about it. Separate Solo from the Open and have people enjoy the game one way or another - 2 separate save files. 2 separate galaxy states. Solo players should not affect the state of the "Open" state galaxy , especially when it comes down to commodities.

well i just have a cobra and i want to train my fighting skills,

besides it would be a good test to see if it really is so easy to make that much credits and how much time it takes because seriously, i always have in every mmo i play people complain on how easy it is to make in game currency.

in this case if it really 1 player in solo/group mode can have such an impact

i want to see if that actually is true in this case

how much cr / hr can you make in a war zone?

If you kit yourself right you can make 1 mil per hour in a regular combat zone in solo.

5 hours in the spear of Lugh should get you 5 mil plus 10 mil to 15 mil in bonuses amounting to upto 20 mil for 5 hours of play

This a hotly debated topic. You will see the giant Solo/Group/Open thread with thousands of posts. Head on over there to see what the fundamental arguments are.

it will never happen as much as everyone wants/doesn't want it.

I think I read a similar post somewhere recently ;)

Yeah, this thread will be locked. Debate in the main topic post if you want. Or just scribble all your sorrows on some paper and flush it down the toilet...

David Braden already explained why this won't happen. The reason is: the universe and the scope of the game can not support an alternative reality as would have to exist in two separate gaming modes. It just can not happen unless someone else does it such as in Star Citizen or Eve which are also open play games, I might add.

And a third galaxy for PRIVATE GROUPS.

And a fourth galaxy for XBox One.

And a fifth galaxy for Mac.

And a sixth galaxy for PlayStation.

And a seventh galaxy for Iron Man Mode.

And an eighth galaxy for players 750 light years away from Lave and Lugh, who never see anyone. It's not fair they get to trade without any other players around... ;)

I'm not sure I'd describe it as a hotly debated topic either - rather, FD have stated their position and the same small group of people continue to whine about pesky solo / group mode player messing up their game.
