Yep it's all well and good but once you release a sandbox game to players they will change the game around them regardless of it's original design and intention.
If you make a space game and give everyone a space ship with guns it doesn't take a genius to work out what will happen. Anyone still bandying about the "pvp will be rare and meaningful" line is completely out of touch with modern gaming/human nature.
I'm not saying do away with groups and switching but something has to change regarding the way some aspects of the game work regarding mode switching.
As stated many times before somethings just don't work well by allowing players to seamlessly move between groups.
Well, as the mode switching was the main foundation for the KS - removing it or changing it may cause a bigger backlash than OfflineGate.
As for those who never read up on the game to understand the game has mode switching before they bought it - I have no sympathy.
It's like buying a glass of water and moaning it is wet! Some people just like to moan, why should the foundation of the game be changed for them?
I didn't come here looking for EVE with cockpits, I didn't come here looking for a Star Trek or Star Wars themed game, I didn't come with any false expectations - I researched the game, then came here as it peeked my curiosity.
Anyone coming here looking for something in particular or some crazy idea over how online games work and then didn't find it - that is no ones fault but their own. All the information was out long before a lot of moaners bought the game.
Free, session by session mode switching was and still is a major selling point of the game.
