Maybe instead of out-and-back, make a big loop?
That was a mistake on my part as i was planning to have a longer route. But one of my friends just bought the game and he was literally smashing his ship in the starter station
Maybe instead of out-and-back, make a big loop?
What's stopping a Solo player from going to Open? Nothing except they do not want to. And the world be damned if the devs force them there. Open players feel the same way when they are forced into another mode because the gameplay dictates it (read the Devs force them there). As I have said, not a hard concept to understand...and yet...8003 posts.
.... and in another post I have put forward the opinion that such a simple modification has probably been left for now due to the immediate consequences that increasing submission FSD cooldown would have.
It would be interesting to know where you have gathered sufficient opinions from a non-role specific portion of the open player-base. I play in open and I don't consider the lack of mass lock for a hyper-drive escape "broken" for example.
The only thing I can't understand is the solo/group players who are against separate community goals for open, even if it's a duplicate of the same goal for solo/group and then the results of both are totalled up to give the outcome. Even if more players are in solo/group atleast the open players would know that any results made in their one were only influenced by players they could actually interact with and it wouldn't change anything at all for solo/group players.

It honestly depends who you play with and where you play. When I was trading I was using the zero cooldown on npcs and never took damage once. On players I would use the system jump and also always managed to escape. I got so bored of always running I started submitting to pirates, dropping them cargo and chatting.
After making friends with pirates and traders a like I got to hear both sides of the equation. No trader bothers to use defensive modules on their ships and currently min/max jump distance and cargo size as it's not needed. Using submit, boost, jump and system jump gave you god mode. Along with combat logging people are technically invincible and with the beacon exploit you don't even have to enter supercruise at all!
After the wing beacon exploit became well known it completely killed trading for me. I couldn't face working my ass off knowing there were people teleporting between stations and making insane amount of money. The fact that it was reported by several people in wings beta didn't help matters. If you go to the elitetraders reddit people happily offer themselves out for beacons whilst they're asleep and there's a still a video showing people exactly how to do it on this forum to this day.
After this I learned that piracy had evolved to the harsher tactics (to deal with the above) as described in my other post so I put my conda in storage and moved to piracy for the challenge and because it was the only profession I hadn't tried yet.
You know I like you, you actually make an effort to communicate. I get what you mean. But it is all based on preference.
To claim there isn't a problem is not understanding the nature of the game and where it is going.
I would argue that to play to "win" is not understanding the nature of the game, but I'm too tired.
Do I get a stuffed Trumble?![]()
Exactly - what are the "winning conditions" in Elite? Do I get to enter 3 bytes on the high score table? Do I get a stuffed Trumble?![]()
I imagine that it does very much depend on who you are playing with (and their preferred role).
Disregarding combat logging and the wing beacon insta-transport issue (hopefully they will both be dealt with to some degree), if all ships have to hang about after interdiction then for some of them that's simply going to be a "death" sentence.
Believe me guys...there are wins and losses. The Feds lost Lugh, CSG won Lugh. Win/loss. This will occur with the new PP.
This means we have a Yellow Dot on the galaxy map! So there! And I am waiting for my Trumble.
strange, as soon as Mr. Braben comments on the "solo players balancing in PP", the focus of the thread switches...
i thought that had been the last problem left?
It did?
It won't be over until every filthy stinking solo player is ground in to the dust!
(feel free to swap solo player with the mode of your choice in the interests of keeping the thread going to 1000 pages)![]()
Hmmm... i didn't think i'd smell that much
But fortunately, i won't hurt your nose, since you won't meet me.
And about keeping the thread up... i'm getting a bit tired lately.
Running around in circles makes me feel dizzy somehow.
I've had a break from the thread, I'll take the wheel while you have a rest
After all, got to make it to 1000 - I've got £50 saying the forums break![]()
You don't smell at all cuz you are in a parallel universe...Hmmm... i didn't think i'd smell that much

They would have to close this. That is the only possible reason we would stop. By force lolI already noticed
I'm just jumping in every now and then... depending on the mood.
But i gave up taking it seriously since it isn't about exchanging arguments anymore.
Keeping it up isn't wrong though... as long as we don't get a definite statement from the "gods"
Edit: although i don't even know what this statement would have to include to make this stop.
