So, at 01:52 on May 10th 2015.....
At a rough guess, I'd say there are a few people who'd vote "no" to messing with the modes or trying to give unfair advantages to one mode.

So, you're advocating its removal?
What I don't think you realise is that its removal won't necessarily mean these people head off into the Open world, it will simply mean they quit and stop playing.
Also, what about those Xbox users who will also affect the same galaxy as the PC/Mac people?
Or, as shown in this thread - people can use technical trickery to be in Open Mode, but never have any contact with another player - so, a homemade Solo mode.
No idea, maybe it has but I am not sure.
I agree, but mobius is an admin rather than a guild leader (no disrespect, it takes a lot of time to manage a group, time I am sure he would rather spend playing the game, I seriously doubt he would ask us to do anything (other than not upset someone else game in his group which is in the rules).
That does not stop anyone else from suggesting something on the forums, if someone suggests a better way to deal with a problem I am happy to listen, for now all I can do is hand in alliance bounty's where I see the name reinhart initellisys.
Tell me a system next door where I can get more alliance bounty's (currently they are 10% where I am, I sell them every few days & use the Asp to get there) and 90% of the bounty's I hand in will be for the alliance rather than the feds, post that info in a new post with the right title and you might just change the galaxy a little.
That was my point. Mobius' group is united by a gentleman's agreement to play the game by a certain rule set. It is not a guild. It does not function as a guild. It could, but as you point out, that would be a tremendous amount of work and time...for a group this large. Stating that 8000 players would turn the game upside down, although definitely true, probably won't happen out of Mobius' group...because that is not what unites them...or motivates them. They just want to play the game without the worry of someone interfering with their game without their consent.
As far as where to turn in bounties for Alliance? Check the galaxy map and filter out everything but Alliance systems...it will show you the nearest planets.

No need to apologise when it come to showing evidence. The mobius number is growing quicker than the forum members, the only two numbers we really know and can prove.
Quick math update (Mobius / forum members) https://forums.frontier.co.uk/memberlist.php
8,100 / 44,570 = 18.17%
So nearly 20% of the forum members are also members of mobius, the percentage keeps growing so either FD are telling people about mobius when they join or ...... maybe they are looking for it themselves, that's the problem with sheep, they don't listen.
The main forum page shows Members: 90,352 - which is correct?
If I can't see them in open they are obviously all cheating, ban the lot of them.

Only 10% of my bounties are alliance (mostly fed) I was asking if anyone could suggest a place where 90% of the bounties I get are for the alliance (near leesti).

I could well be totally wrong and am happy to be corrected if anyone has a conclusive answer.
90k would halve the percentages I am stating which does make a difference, so I am quite interested in what is the correct number.

You have your "precursor" ordering wrong. Elite is 30yrs old. It predates all of those, it started out on a 32KB BBC micro. ED is the evolution of that game.
Anyway, back to reading the thread..
I play solo and private group (my own) so that I can fly with my boys.
For every one of you "nice social" open players I bet there is a psycho that just want to nail noobs.
The choice of "solo" or "private group" ensures that I will never met either of these individuals, and thats just fine.
I wouldn't be too sure. If +8000 players decided to log on at the same time and do coordinated actions, I'm pretty sure it would have a huge impact.
Not that it would ever happen though. As others have said already, Mobius PvE group is working by gentlemans agreement to let others go about their business, unless on opposing sides in a conflict zone of course.

I expect that the discrepancy arises from the fact that spambots, sockpuppets and duplicates are perma-banned and will not be shown as active users.
