I use to play open. But now that i think about it i rather enjoy this game by myself. I do not feel like losing a million dollar ship due to some trolls. I got plenty of open type of games. It is called Battlefield. I have to say elite dangerous makes me more relaxed then Battlefield. Thank you FD for making this great game i enjoy.

I'm not requiring anyone to do anything.

Then why try to encourage players into Open? Also, you (among others) have stated that you want Frontier to change the game by increasing the average potential earning rate in Open to mitigate the perceived lower risks encountered by players in Solo - that's at least requesting that someone does something.

... masquerading as facts....

Here is a fact for you;

The ONLY difference in earning potential between the modes - is OTHER players getting in YOUR way or not.

And who has the power over that?
Oh right, each and every single one of us.

I don't let others get in my way, you apparently do.
That is not MY fault, that does not qualify YOU for extra benefits.

:)

Requesting =/= Requiring, and Encouraging =/= Requiring either. I'm not requiring anyone to do anything they don't want. I'm trying to encourage people to play open, and requesting FD makes a change to facilitate that.

Ok this argument is going in circles and I'm getting dizzy.

Which just happens to have the unfortunate side effect of increasing your income.

That's fairy nuff.

I'm a pirate, my income could get increased 10 fold and it still wouldn't match what I could make trading. If I only cared about the money I'd have other options. Ones a lot easier than fighting an uphill battle in this thread.

Fair point. The game needs a breathalyser to determine the bonus.

Yep. Some of the stations also need disabled parking spaces on the outsides of stations for people like me who boost inappropriately.

In all seriousness, have you ever played in open and had a jam at the letterbox, then flashed your lights to tell the other person to go through first? I've done that twice. :D

Requesting =/= Requiring, and Encouraging =/= Requiring either. I'm not requiring anyone to do anything they don't want. I'm trying to encourage people to play open, and requesting FD makes a change to facilitate that.

Rationalization in action. You want the game altered in such a way so that more people play the way you want them to play rather than the way they want to play.

Last I knew, "requesting" something involved asking for something... getting your answer and then moving on.

Continuously asking, over and over is "nagging" - like so;

Well, just like your earnings - you are in control of that :p

Except I don't view it that way, I already believe that solo is encouraged over open, im merely trying to tip the balance back to normal.

I now refuse to play in open, Pirating will kill the open version of Elite if the "death tax is not changed" It is far to steep for the casual player right now and believe it or not the casual player is whom will keep this game alive for many years.

A better "tax" would be to drop the player to the base model of current ship and 10% of accumulated wealth removed.

What this would encourage is more people to venture into the open world and try out the PvP system.

Since when is Solo encouraged ???

Oh, wait... no, I got this....

Ram killing in letter boxes with imputance, constant stream of "lulz" videos from cheaters and griefers on YouTube, massive overpowered player combat ships pulling over player sidewinders and instagib one shots, people screaming "if you don't like it leave open" (or "join Mobius" in place of "leave open") as some form of insult....

Nope, that cannot be it - you keep saying open is fine, must be something else then......

Nope, nothing on my menu screen saying to go Solo.... you lost me.

True. Very true. Excellent point. Do you not think many people share that sentiment?

Do you then also not agree that the reward for playing open should not be measured in credits but units of fun? And that this argument also goes the other way. The reward for playing solo should be measured in fun? And that arguing to have a 10% increase in revenue is missing the point as severely as I am missing that letterbox over there?

What is the unit of measurement of fun? Is it beers? Beer seem like a good measurement of fun.

Not everyone views the world the same and does everything by the number of beers, on the fun scale it has. Some people are credit driven, I wish to encourage them.

Fun is objective, fighting a player might register 9 beers for one person, but only half a beer for another. Not even a good beer, like a flat one with a cigarette butt in it.

Credits are a nice, easily quantified number.

like every other game in the market...casual players is always more than the hardcore
