Fine, hooray for you. :) Please don't post if you DON'T have problems. This is pointless and distracting from the point of the thread.

That actually shows how far down in the details this bork is. Many many pilots aren't affected or haven't noticed, and those that are seem to have a wide variety of issues, mostly related to what seems like entire missing channels or possibly the settings being mismanaged in the software somewhere. Doesn't help that audio is a highly subjective topic in the first place, based on kit, taste and perceptions.

This is quite apart from any actual sound remixing they've done; the much quieter SC cycling sound seems to be more of a design choice and not part of this bork, for example. Again, though, it's subjective. It's where a lot of this friction on the topic (mine included for one >____> ) gets created.

Telling people not to post is pretty ignorant, his post might be of some value with regard to different hardware setups.

Oh and dont tell me to stop with anything, I was being serious when I asked about the "clipper pilots" being grounded !

Sigh, and once again, sigh.

I am trying to keep this thread to the point, as it is important to a number of us. Sorry if I took your post the wrong way, it appeared somewhat sarcy :)

I just wanted to show my support for this thread. The new audio mix is annoying me, in particular the new SC sounds, to the point where I've muted all sound from the game. Talk radio and music now replace it completely.
This is has all at least given me an even greater appreciation for the pre 1.1 mix.
I'm just perplexed why they're messing with it post release. The audio was the only polished aspect of the game...

Thanks, can you please raise a ticket as i suggested, and let them know. The more that do, the quicker we can get this resolved hopefully, so everyone's happy :)
thank you! :)

Ah condescending too I see ;)

Apology accepted, for the record I completely agree that the sound has changed.
Ticket and move on is all we can do for the moment, still its nice to see folk are passionate about it.

People have and did during the beta as well. 1.1was still released despite those tickets, two patches were released with no sound roll back, even with this thread and multiple tickets being raised.

A quick please all solution would have been a roll back but no. Here we are, ships in hangers unable to bring our selves to fly....

:D Yes, we wait in hope!

I've just noticed that the "shepard tone" (like some mentioned in another thread) - the ac- and decelerating sound of the fsd - still is there, but so vague you almost doesnt notice. i just hope the make an option to turn it back on (some ppl seem to dont like that sound, maybe they are the reason why it got muted)

I have no doubt you are correct. But since 1.1.04 it is basically gone completely now, in 1.1 to 1.1.03 is was barely audible. I accept people might not like it, but to me, and a lot of others it's imperative to the game. Anyway....let's hope they can do something to please everyone on this. A simple option the audio menu to turn on/off seems the simplest & easiest to implement (though i'm no programmer!) and this would keep all people happy, on this issue at least :)

Once again... can all the happy people feeling the sound is perfect and OK record and share a basic video of boosting, FSD charging, Supercruising and decelerating? Just 1 minute video. Let people understand if your sound is really ok or it's just your opinion/taste.
I personally have forwarded a video to the lead sound designer Joe Hogan and he said it's not meant to sound like that!
So please, if you want to come here saying "everything is fine", be constructive and post something people can hear and compare.
Thank you.

I was able to play 1.1 some last night and noticed the same thing with the audio. I usually output 5.1 to Dolby headphone, amp, then to lcd-2. For most games this works really well for positional audio. Anyway.. Frontier changed /tweaked some of the channels around and it's not being mixed properly for me. This could be a problem with either my setup, or how the game detects multichannel systems.

Temporarily I changed back to 2 channel stereo and it fixed most of the issues for me, for what it's worth.

Many of the fine details is gone, I don't know how to explain it, other than it sounds like a very muddy sound mix. No definition at all.
Before it was crystal clear and now it's like wearing ear muffing's or being under water. It's not the same for sure.

Echoes my thoughts and posts exactly, sadly I dont think they will do it.
No one likes to admit failure and I think they would see rolling back the audio as admitting they made a big mistake
.
They should admit it, there was no need whatsoever to touch the sound anyway. They should work on engines for any new ships coming along, not mess up what was already great.

For me it's simple. I hit the throttle and I thought what an idiot I jumped in my type 6 by mistake. No I am in my Asp and somebody has stolen my engine. No wait I must have stuffed cotton wall in my ears. But no wait all sound muted or vanished. Why did they play with the sound? Sorry I am staying in my hanger until they roll back the sound to 1. FD have got to be honest and open about this. If it's a mistake tell us. Fix it. Learn lessons and move on with new features not playing with something that was great.
