The 'Spoiled by Sam' thread - PAX edition

while im sure they were will be more. You have to understand development of new items takes time a lot of time. So im not sure what the expectation was that makes this so underwhelming. Its been one week since we got a new ride last. Its been essentially a month or so since the update before that. so we get what 3 months of development time? Stretched out across a finite group of devs. Then other teams like QA who have to go over what devs made. When you have a deadline. A quick one at that, you have to break off at reasonable points to ensure what you want to release works. And doesn't break existing things.

I say you can expect at least two more flat rides. I think we've had enough peaks and evidence for that. 4 Flat Rides, New Gameplay, New Staff, 60+ New Scenery Items. I'd say thats a pretty good free pack. Done within 3 months. (And done within 6 months of game release)

Stuff like this is why im glad I work in internal only side dev stuff not consumer software. The expectations can be ridiculous.

Got to say, that was a little underwhelming...........2 Flat rides, Security, Some Scenery, and a few new Blueprints....panned out for 1hr, and they lost 30mins don't forget.

Hope there saving the best for last.

Yeah, I hope that there's more. For me personally, I was hoping for management changes (more interesting career mode, competition against AI, etc.), but for now it's just about the visual and building part, except for security guard, but it will not add so much to the game. I still crossed the fingers that more is to come... I really want to keep faith.

I was hoping we'd see fixes to the already implemented systems. Pathing being the biggest. But also things like rotating walls freely within a grid, updates to the building system overall, making more things recolorable, being able to combine buildings, etc. etc.

New items are cool, but they need to focus on their existing systems first. Really hoping they show some of it off in the next stream. Was trying to get back into the game yesterday and gave up in frustration after not being able to build a simple entrance plaza due to the pathing system.

For what it's worth, I'm pretty chuffed with what I've seen so far! Looking forward to seeing how the security guard plays out. The new rides and scenery pieces are just the icing on the cake!

I get the feeling they still havent put weather in to the game... Must admit that annoys me. I mean, weather is such a basic needed gameplay element.

whats underwhelming (so far) is that not much was shown, stall signs uh ok a bit boring, blueprints; again not significant, fences I like but still meh, 2 new rides (I am positive there are more rides to come too) ok sure but no big deal IMO. The only major change that was shown was security which is nice but I probably wont use them.

1.1 was done in a month and we had a whole new scenery set/biome, management screen updates/changes and some rides, stalls.

And I do know what development is like because I am a developer

Yes I agree. I didn't see the stream, since it was on Facebook, but Vampiro was giving me a live commentary on Discord, and I must say it sounds like they were just stalling for time for most of the stream, by recapping everything we already know, and then showing things like fences. I'm a little disappointed about that, but lets hope they are trying to save the good stuff for later if they manage to get YouTube working again.

Well, to be fair, they did point it out themselves early in the stream that the older fans who already know about PC should bear with them because they'd mostly show&tell some basic information about the game.

is todays stream over? was something not working?? when is the next stream? tomorrow??

Im sure they have more to show off, because they did not even get into the new "paid cosmetic DLCs" that were announced (which I am not looking forward to as I will not buy microtransaction DLC).

but I do think what they showed off today is looking pretty good. Fences are a big request, security is big for me, and a few new rides are nice. Hopefully this is just the first of the streams and more will be shown [yesnod]

I can see them announcing stuff forever. But I can see them abruptly ending quickly too :(

We need more ride announcement to confirm theories! and a bobsled coaster be amazeballs.
