The US sales technique of hyping also shouldn't work too well with Germans either, but plenty of german whales exist as well.

I was always told if you want to sell to the US you appeal to their emotions. If you want to sell to the Germans you show them technical specifications and parameters. If you want to sell to the English you get them drunk.

No, no, no. These days, if you want to sell the average German something, you only have to tell him (her, it...) that it's for the "fight against Nazis," and there'll be up there quicker than a rat up a drain pipe. (Forgive my being slightly bitter for being called the N-Word, only for being conservative, an avid supporter of Israel und Jews in general, and in support of freedom of speech...)

In other words, if CRobberts wishes to boost sales, he only needs to inform the German government that there will be banners and holograms against "Nazis" in the 'verse -- he'll get funding until it comes out of his ears afterwards...

Welp...I won't be going to Citcon..besides being closer to Norway than the UK here...I've got silage and harvesting to do... and winter feeding by the time that pile of nonsense comes around..

A few randoms on a quiet server made up a sort of HH crew last night. One Portugese, 2 UK, a Norwegian, an Orkney Islander and a Berliner...sounds like the beginning of a joke somehow...We did a few escorts for a guy in a Caterpillar...attacked a drug den...killed some pirates and some UEE navy ships at Kareah..then a bit of random flying around Hurston in the Valkyrie. A good night on the SC servers as things go and made some new friends for the contacts list. I was in the rear turret in case you were wondering why the pics are upside down, just had to get that screenie of the HH shadow over the drug den...

"I'm not making any promises but we're exploring potentially ways to persist things more permanently sooner"

😵

He describes the minimal persistence you'd expect in any game you paid money for like being able to keep your ship etc.

"If they can get that in this year that would be amazing"

Kickstarter backers were expected to get digital copies of the "finished game" in 2014 how can anyone sit with a straight face and say it would be "amazing" if they get the basic ability to carry on where you left off with your in game stats 6-7 years after that deadline has been and gone? Oh yeah because of all the awesome unmeasurable fluff they weren't going to put in the 2014 game which meant it could never be fully realised because Chris dared to dream so big.

Self-perpetuity is striving to be persistent inherently. Unbelievers don't understand it, but it is an existence in equilibrium once achieved.

That YouTuber and Twitch streamer, SaltEMike, is generally fairly critical of SC, despite still supporting it. He plays it a lot less on his stream, branching out to DayZ and other games.
He was more critical few months ago, even looked like on the fringe to break with the project. Now he seems more in "damage control / big problems are not that a problem / tiny advances and/or glimpses of teasing of potential minor thing coming (no promises) are big steps forward making SC a G.A.M.E." mode.

I still like the guy, he sure is quite realistic towards the game, he raises some good points and questions, yet he quickly wipes those the second some fairy dust hit him in the eyes.

A few SC youtubers have gone that way after understanding SC isn't going to sustain them.

It seems lately that SaltEMike (Twerk17 as he was) has been eating a dose of reality salts and got rid of the angst when it comes to his discussions on Star Citizen. I never really got his old videos but the new ones are enjoyable at least.

Persistence wise...what Chad McKinney was talking about is what all us regular players in Star Citizen are harping on about...we don't care if that box we picked up is still lying where we left it or not...all we want is to keep what we earn from patch to patch. If we buy a ship with credits we've earned over a few patches and then be allowed to keep them...what a difference.

I’m guessing they can’t do the basics so they fill their time with pointless fluff and keep the dream going. They’ve certainly had plenty of opportunities to showcase their talent and fallen short at every step.
As far as I can tell their only talent is making assets. These assets in a game world however don’t work.
