"The Stones"

but non of these are not reacting for our tech (except scanner beeping)
I think they extract a pilot
I'm not sure it was the artifact that did that.
It mentioned the soldiers getting "pulled up into the lights", my interpretation of that was that they got abducted by an Interceptor, similar to how SRVs and nearby objects will get pulled up into their tractor beam when they do what ever it is they're doing to the Barnacles.

hmm. may be INRA records are related in somepoint.

i mean problems with Adomastor`s systems, and before problems with equipment in the Carver`s site.

ADD: And gunfire just before Carver escape from Adamastor

Aaaaand now I realize that "top of the line" is an English colloquialism,so very different phrases might be used in the translated logs.

6 pages behind but just for clarity.

top of the line - usually means 'best, latest version, probably more or most expensive' so in that context would just mean the latest hardest encryption available.

Not missing that, I mention the missing 'object' but it still goes back to the incomplete mystery stumped by the LP. At least, that's the part I'm focusing on until more relevant discoveries are made that I can focus on
Since the role of LP was only to direct Ghost ship to station/SRV/crashedT (and in my theory this is path 2) it's possible that if we ever decrypt it, we'll find exactly that, coordinates to that station. Think of it like, "Cmdr will find station no matter if he goes down to LP or up to crashed Sidewinder, the award of finding the station is the same."

For single commander even this story is a very time-consuming task. Also, not all have extremely high IQ and in-game knowledge, so I guess mysteries should be/are a bit simpler, to match mental possibilities of average-IQ person (like myself lol, tho' maybe I dropped a bit in time).

Third option: we wait for another Galnet article pushing the story further!

PS
We almost certanly know what the artefact is, probe or similar.

Good summary alphakomodo, I'm right with ya. Let's take a step back...

1. FD have made it clear "everything is related":
2. Explosions in stations using Thargoid tech
3. Liz Ryder linked to Marlinist terrorists
4. New Thargoid incursion CG in Witch Head
5. Now, new barnacles found in new location
6. New barnacles no doubt being trashed by Cmdrs mining raw mats

My guesses:

1. Thargoids don't like their barnacles being mishandled (who does?) - expect new Goid invasion North East side of the bubble, possibly Chukchan area?

2. Where did the Marlinists get 'Goid tech? Have they found the secret labs owned by Azimuth and used their secrets to deploy Goid payloads?

3. During the excellent comedy newscast the guys mentioned the "binary code" twice, which may relate to the encrypted LP data?

In summary, FD have a massive new CG/story arc ongoing well into next year and I reckon they're introducing it via these snippets and backstories. Not sure we even need to decode the LP data as I'm expecting new developments any day now.

Good though init! Really bringing the community alive.

That's the obvious meaning; my thought was that it meant more than the obvious.

But apart from the other problems with the idea I realized on my way out of bed today that we were almost certainly meant to solve the listening post first, so putting a clue to it in the settlement logs would have been pointless.

OK, so since we're in a bit of a bind regarding the LP code, I wanted to just weigh in some thoughts:

The 'Object' which we can safely assume is a Thargoid thing is missing. It was on the ship prior to Dr Carvers escape on the sidewinder, but where is it now?
Was it taken on arrival in Chukchan, or somewhere in between?
The 'Object' can be 'heard' on the Infrasonic level, meaning surely it can be detected by our FSS at the low end, much like signal sources.

Also where was the Adamastor taking the object? It seemed to be heading in a particular direction before the systems failed and all hell broke loose. It then autopiloted to its home system of Chukchan.

So my guess is, the LP code shows instruction to pick up the object and then where to take it.

On the code itself, I think others are right in saying some parts are not encrypted, it seems too much coincidence those words appear. I spent a few hours running parts of the code through decryption, it did pop out a few words but I think it was mostly by fluke. 2 of those words were 'Lost' and 'Night'.
How wonderfully appropriate.

This bumby texture on the ghost ship at the engine end seemed to jump out, but I vaguely feel ive seen it before, doesnt scan or anything so probably just molten insulation form or something

I also wonder where he originally went.

Radio silence mode, a team of engineers, biologists and military. A sidewinders escort fleet. All this is strange.

Hm. I drew a straight line from the CoalSack through hip 69000. Perhaps the end point of Adamastor was somewhere here
